Hi all, very long time lurker. I've loved following peoples journey on here for a long time. Thought I might contribute, albeit a few years late.

My garage space has changed a few times over the years but after finally buying a house this might just be my forever garage.

This was way back in 2010 after I just made my benches. Was a comfy fit 6m x 6m.



Then I downsized back in 2012 to a 3m x 6m (no pics) and 2014 another move to this 3.5m x 7m. I enjoyed this one, it was a bit slender but it got the job done.



Now finally in 2016 we purchased our first home and a double garage with internal access was a must. Still only 6m x 6m but it suited me well. I like to optimise my space so I've pretty much filled every wall with some form of storage and I'm forever thinking of additions.



I'll add some more info and pics of the things I've done over the years but this is pretty much how it sits today.

I'm a bit of a Streetfighter Motorcycle fan, and before we moved everything in my lovely Wife laminated all of my favourite centrefolds for the wall. Not sure on the ****** policy here but I'll share the pic. I love letting my mother inlaw walk through the garage into the house. Always good for a laugh.

I know they're not to everyone's taste. I've copped a few tacky comments over the years. But hey, it's my shed.

This was a great start to the move. I really wanted to epoxy the floor but time with the move didn't allow. Now I know I'll never get around to it but the concrete floor was in good condition so I've learned to live with it.

One of the first jobs I was keen to do was to knock up some benches. One to sit at and chill and have a cider or read a magazine or just jibber with a mate, and another that kind or just floated, just a little island bench. My main benches had plenty of space but man I can cover them in parts real quick if I'm playing with a bike.

I had some offcuts of RHS and plenty of red paint at work so they found their way into my garage. Only cost me the timber. Gotta love some free supplies. I made the legs adjustable so I didn't have any rocking issues. Picked up some nice stools from a tool shop, they do the job nicely.



I did the same with the island bench, "sponsored" by work . Picked up a cheap roller trolley and the red almost matched perfectly, fit in there neatly with the wheels removed. Good place to put my bin too. It was at this point I started going overboard with carpety type things. believe it or not I do do work in here I'm just tidy.

I haven't updated these pics for a little while but this is my general setup from back wall around to left wall. It's always changing. It's a bit cluttered but everything has its place.



I once had the same shelf as this on my left wall but replaced it with cabinets. I normally like making my shelves/benches but these were good value and worked really well.



These benches I made have always evolved over time I only recently added the overhead cabinets. Really useful if you're tall.



These red cabinets have been on this bench for over ten years and they have been so useful.



These steel cabinets were a great addition over the shelves I had before. Bit more clutter hidden away and as a bonus the vertical centrefolds fit perfectly. Two cabinets 860mm wide x 2090mm high x 540mm deep. Lots of space.

Seen these on special at our local Bunnings (Hardware superstore) and I thought hey that will fit in a spare spot in the corner of the shed if I make a roller frame.



So I knocked up a frame and added some wheels and a lick of red paint. Turned out ok and cleared the roller door.

I have this gap under my main benches, I had black tubs in there to fill the space which were ok, but you had to pull the top one out to get to the bottom. I was looking at the milwaukee pack out drawers but they are so expensive. I thought hey make some yourself.



Used my big band saw at work. Made everything so easy.

Had a little helper too.







Gave them a paint with some satin black and used the same handles as my big drawers. Turned out pretty good and much more usable space so I've just cut up enough plywood to put some deep drawers on the left void now and get rid of the tubs.

I've gone a bit drawer crazy. Knocked up another one today just to see how it sat on one of my open shelves. I like it. I may move it down one bay and make another for the lower level.

I installed two separate 15amp circuits, one on each side wall of my garage then they got obstructed by my various storage things. So I made some new extension powerboards, I'm a fan of industrial switches we have here in Oz so went with that theme. Overkill but they do the trick.



This is the one I made for the west wall, I haven't finished the one for the east wall. Will update later. It looks like it's just sitting there but it is fixed to the shelf.

My camping batteries live on shelves when not in use, I thought I might put them on a permanent trickle charge. I've always been a big fan of Noco gear with all my batteries so I picked up their 2 x 2 amp charger. Also had a bit of alloy chequer plate laying about so it made a nice mounting bracket.

Even a nice surprise in the drawer.

She's a good little helper gave the drawer a bit of a weight test.

On a slight tangent, I made this ammo box power source a few years back. I know you can buy small battery boxes already made but this was a little more fun. It just sits in the middle of camp and people can charge there devices from it.

Finished the two drawers for my shelf. Gave them a coat of grey.



Also made the last two deep drawers to replace the tubs. Much more usable space now. Will paint soon.

I just can't leave any gaps lately. I've gone drawer crazy. It's only costing me $10 for the drawer slides and $4 for a handle so the price is right.

Finished my other extension power board, fit nicely on the tower drawers I made earlier.





Also picked up one of these Chicago Air silent air compressors. It is damn quiet I must say. It's good for 120psi, it's all out in 10 seconds though before it has to refill. I don't mind I only need it for little squirt every now and then to blow out the odd air filter. Nice and compact too.

I had time today to finish painting the new drawers black, it was nice and sunny and dried pretty quick.

I finally got around to purchasing a motorcycle lift.




Does the trick nicely, paint finish is great and build quality is pretty good . It lifts unnecessarily high but might come in handy for my old spine, no more working on the floor for me.



Still plenty of room to work around it 360 degrees.

I ran a power cable to my island bench so I could plug in some chargers for the bikes. Bit more convenient now.

I've recently been keen to work on some small engines, maybe make a kart or barstool racer for fun. So I was looking at some rubber at the local hardware shop, something oil resistant and maybe chequered for a little extra grip. Almost tripped over a pallet with these bbq mats on it, couldn't believe my luck. I made my island bench frame based on two 405mm x 1200mm pieces of timber making the bench top 810mm x 1200mm. These BBQ mats are 820mm x 1200mm chequered and oilproof. SCORE !!!

I was thinking of maybe making an extension to my island bench just to clear the main work area and have the tools on the side. A little bit of googling later I discovered these folding brackets. I thought I'll give them a go, $20 delivered off ebay and $20 of timber and it works a treat. I'm very happy with it and might add another one up the other end. It adds an extra 355mm x 810mm.

I wasn't liking how this middle shelf looked, it was a bit cluttered. So I thought hey might as well get some more bench space and pegboard surface area.

I put some pegboards on either end of the shelf, I thought might as well maximise the space. Might be a good little nook for a 3D printer I've been thinking about getting.



Also knocked this up the other day for my +13mm drill bits I had loose in a drawer. Nothing fancy, gets the point across.

Ended up putting another flip down bench at opposite end of island bench, combined they give me an extra 810mm x 710mm. Very handy I think.

After much research I took the plunge and bought a 3D printer, I pressed buy now at 2am Thursday and it arrived at 9am Saturday. Happy surprise. Didn't even know they delivered sat. I hooked straight in.



My main reason to purchase one was for tool related stuff and organisation etc. I use to store all my stainless hardware in one of these kincrome units for years 4 drawers of them.





It did the trick for years, but I've since discovered this Gridfinity stuff and thought hey I'll give that a go. Pics for reference.





I've just finished all the bases for one of my tool chest drawers. The drawer fits 13 x 9 units. I'm primarily printing 2x1 bins to fill it in.
I'll be printing a different colour based on the diameter of each fastener.


The bins are rather nice, they have a 12.2 mm label ledge to accommodate most digital label makers 12mm dimension, they also have a slight curve to the front of the bin to allow ease of grabbing what you need. It's a fantastic modular system by Zack Freedman. There are 1000s of things to download that use this system.

Sure thing. It's a "Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro" There is a standard S1 with less features and also an S1 Plus with a bigger build area (300mm cubed)

*The S1 Pro has a build area of 220 x 220 x 270 high.

*They come 96% together in the box. (Awesome foam in the packaging)

*It took less than 15min to put together and commence the first print.

*They come with a USB & a preloaded full size SD card. It has 4 prints ready to go and the Creality slicer program to install on your computer.

*Also includes enough filament to do the first few prints on the SD card. I'd buy some anyway so you have some to go.

*I had help from the massive amount of videos on YouTube unboxing and setting the same model up. It was relatively easy.

By all accounts I've come into the game quite late, so they're reasonably priced these days also the filament too.

This cost me $654 AUS to my door, they varied from $599 to $750 depending on who had a sale.

Well after a few hundred hours printing I finally finished my hardware drawer organiser. Also did some pegboard storage things while I was at it.

I was looking around my shed for things I could print next if anything at all to add. My newer pegboards caught my eye, they are 450mm in height attached to 600mm mdf. So I have this 150mm strip around the bottom. I also wrapped them around the sides cutting one pegboard in half, so 450 x 450. I'm left with 14 x 150mm squares of potential pegboard space avoiding the power point.

Still learning and barely scratching the surface of my 3D Printer and also having scoured printables and thingiverse.com there is no shortage of printable pegboards. But almost all were 6x6 inches which being 152.4mm none would fit. So after a few days of tutorials on YouTube about Freecad, I figured I'd give it a go drawing one up. I made it 150x150x3mm with 25mm centres and countersunk holes through 16mm standoffs to suit my original pegboards 19mm thickness. Well I'm just a simple welder and not very cluey but I pulled it off. That's right I spent two days drawing a square with a few holes in it lol. The simple things hey.
