Went to the American Red Cross to donate blood, but on the way in, I noticed that the dumpster was full of tool boxes, I went in and asked about them and they told me if they were in the garbage that I could have them. I got eight yes (8) of them. I spent all day repairing spot welds that had broke loose and reinstalling drawer glides that the spot weld was broken. I made 7 good ones and one parts box..

I had the neighbors and my sisters and my mother all wanting one, I gave all but one away, even the parts unit. Wow it took me longer to fix them, then to give them away.

We use those at work for isolation carts outside the patient rooms. We fill the drawers with gloves, masks, and isolation gowns.

I travel for a living, so I keep my eyes open and look for stuff, I always check the restores and closing stores when I have free time either before work or after work and I am not afraid to ask if I see something that I thank would work for me or some one else that I know, I do try to share if I get more than I need. You would not believe what is out there for little or nothing, you just got to open your eyes and not be afraid to ask. One lesson that I have learned is to alway speak to the manager, don't ask an employee to ask them, Two things, either the employee will then want it, and it is much harder for the manager to look you in the eyes and tell you no than it is to tell some one else to tell you no.... I think he's commenting on the golden horseshoe up your ***...with all the finds you've posted.

(and the "golden horseshoe" comment is meant in a humourous context, in a "you ****" kind of way.)

We have a non profit company out here where I live, United Blood Services, they have a profit of between 8-10 million dollars, because they get blood free and sell it for about $650 a pint. I worked on a building they leased and knew the owner, he researched them before they leased his building. A big scam, I can't imagine the salery of the executives, if they sell my blood for a profit, I will only sell it to them at a profit.

Gregg, This is about what I found at Red Cross when I went to give blood, had nothing to do with them except for what I found in their garbage. But being you brought up the subject I did some looking on the matter. And this is what I found.. All blood is donated. In 1964 the goverment made it ilegal to sell ANY body parts, Most blood companys out there are non profit, which don't mean that they give their blood away, They cover their costs in getting it, testing it, and shipping it to the hospitals. The hospitals are the ones making bank on the blood. Back to selling your blood, People do sell their plasma, but that is not being transfused in the United States. Most all of it is sold to the makeup co. for like mascara. Any make up that has Coligin in it, is made from blood products. So yes your wife is wearing someones elses blood on her face. You too can look this up online. So please get your facts correct before going on a rant which is off subject in the first place. Rich..

I enjoy your post of the good deals you find and share. I would though invest in a gallon of bleach and a power washer and clean those tool boxes if you have not already. I hate blood and see it at my work a lot. yuk.
