Hey all, my grandpop just gave me a gas powered Speedaire compressor. Its an older model powered by a 4h.p. briggs engine, with Due to him being a tool hoarder with a few compressors laying around...he basically only started it once a year or so since hes bought it. (and its definintly old). However, I noticed its leaking compressor oil from under the compressor unit.....and he said it had a few leaks in some pipes. are aprts availible for thease things? I tried fidning a speedaire website and came up with nothing.

These are the sheets that came with a Speedaire head I located, in the mid eighties, though maybe not as old as yours.

I will throw some pics up tomorrow. the only model stamp i can see is on the compressor unit itself. says A140c. Looks like the acutual sticker is long gone, but that stamping is still there.

that tag is about not changing factory settings due to it being calibrated for max psi at the factory (forget the actual wording), but its something like that.

OK...the pump on your set up is a 2Z499. All the gaskets, rings, reed valves, and oil seal are still available. A few other odds and ends can still be found if you dig enough.

I can tell by looking at them now. A few years ago, a friend pawned several of those pumps off on me.

I doubt it........... if you look at that sheet I posted initially both a 2Z499A and a 2Z630A are dimensionally the same. The way to tell conclusively, is to remove the head and measure the bore. It is highly unlikely that a 4HP gas engine was wasted on a 2Z499A.

Mine is a 2Z499A and is driven by a 2HP electric motor ......a system that was pieced together.

Yes, they are the same with exception to the cylinders. If you place the 2Z499 and the 2Z630 side by side, you can tell a difference. In addition, gas power air compressors are most generally powered powered w/ an engine rated at 2 times the compressor pump rating.

The pump the op is asking about is a 2Z499.
