Hi all,

It amazing how much knowledge there is encapsulated on this forum; the vast array of garage/shop renovations, features, plans, fixtures, tools, ideas, and know-how is absolutely mind boggling. I am starting a new shop/garage/house build soon, and am trying to wrap my head around all of the amazing ideas members here have put forth. To that end, I wanted to start a running list of member's favorite garage features, any regrets you had after your garage/shop was completed, and general advice you'd give new-comers looking to maximize the efficiency and capability of their spaces.

So what do you love about your space? What is your favorite feature of your garage/shop? What regrets do you have after the build was complete? What advice would you give people like me looking to make their space the best it can be?

Pictures are encouraged!

I'll update this post and create a running list of features, regrets, and advice.

biggest regret: got impatient and didn't wait on some instructions, the mishap cost me putting my footer in the wrong place and i had to repour one footer. also, i wish i had hired out the footer job and not let my buddy talk me into doing it myself. as a result, the top of my footer didn't get finished properly and created hassles when building my wood end walls. e6e755ff4829078c281cc2ae67225c2e.jpgdf0726eb02a367736ba8a74996f9e3ff.jpg

biggest like: roll up door! by far one of my favorite features. i will do this again. And my 10'x5' window in the back of my shop! absolutely love having that much natural light. Finally, went with LED 18w sticks that can be daisy chained. 2dd8ae67574dd764aebdc222df007b26.jpg24daa69ba96be1e98eb87edd9410196b.jpg06df16664d6f4c5dd0f7ebb5ad0283ca.jpga62e4e0611d72731f61eea37d4efab97.jpg

biggest wish: heated floor. i put off pouring my concrete twice to ensure i could afford to put the pex and insullation in the floor. i will not pour without this. Also, getting my water line run eventually. Finally, a 20x20 pad in front and back of the hut.

what i like best: the volume of space i have in side is fantastic. i have tall ceilings. i bought a quanset hut because i liked the DIY nature of building and finishing it. there have been some challenges, and knowing what i know now, id have done a few things differently. but overall, its a great looking unit.
