Back in the early Summer, and after months of picking the GJ collective brains, I ended up going with a Hoover pole barn out of Greer, SC. Just about everyaspect of the build was questioned here on the site, and I learned a lot.
For my work needs and environment, I went with a 3in slab cut every 10ft, 3in vinyl backed insulation (more of just a robust vapor barrier), a 10x10 rear door and a 12x10 front door. Where I put my money and time was the lighting
. Sitting at the 14ft truss level, are (20) T8 fixtures with 4 bulbs per fixture. Before I moved my 'stuff' in, we were getting about 111 foot candles! I went with about 30ft of clear panels on the South side- I can't say I regret it.
The pallet racks sit at 12ft high, and work extremely well. Once it goes on a shelf, it tends to stay there! The overall pad was cleared an extra 12ft on the East side for the inevitable expansion. But for now, I'm content!
