See the GJ coupon thread for HF as it's $269 to get the top box to match your 44" roller.

I have that coupon....really would rather have a 56" box, would REALLY rather have a 56" box for $550! Guess I'll keep my eyes open and hope fortune smiles on me...

Picked one up this morning for $297.49:bounce::bounce:....long story

Dan

Thanks to you guys, I bought one yesterday at the $350 sale price. I tried to use the 20% coupon, but the cashier's initial response was that I couldn't use it for sidewalk sale items (not that it couldn't be used for toolboxes...). I thought about trying my luck with the coupon after the sale was over to get it for an even better price, but I knew my chances were slim and didn't want to let this deal get away from me. Of course, now I see DanCo was smart enough to get it for 297.49, so I agree with everyone else-tell us how!

Ok, ok. So this morning I set out to buy it, paid for it, got it loaded up in the back of the kia, went home. Seeing as it was empty I figured now would be the right time to change the casters to all swivels. Laid out some cardboard and some foam padding flipped it on its side and started swapping the casters. Nice to know that the bolts for the caster were left loose. Flipped it over to the other side and noticed one of the fixed casters was missing a bolt, no biggie since I have a **** load of spare hardware. Well the damn bolt hole was stripped out....ok so I ran a differnt sized bolt, lock washer/ flat washer/ lock nut. Still I was a bit vexed that if I didn't decide to change out the casters I would have never noticed the loose and missing/stripped hardware. I called the store to complain. The MOD told me to bring the box back for an exchange, but I'm not about to swap the casters back, load it back in the kia and drive back to the store. So no way, he said fine come in and he'll take care of me....cha-ching. So 15% off.

So for all you guys who go and buy the 44 or 56 box take a min and check the bolts on the casters.

Wow 15% is a pretty good discount for taking your word over the phone. Good snag. Who says if it ain't broke, don't fix it? The 44" price to beat is now $297.49...

I bought one of these for the building I work in (commercial maintenance) and all the caster bolts we're loose one was 1/2" from being tight. I took all the casters off and am building a steevo inspired workbench pictures when it's done.

I looked at one of these today and was shocked at how much I liked it. The drawers were nice and thick. The slides operated smoothly. The paint was nice. I am currently looking for a new house and a 3+ car garage is a must. Once we have moved, this will definitely be the box I get. A good friend is a Snap-on dealer and even with discount, I cannot justify the price difference. Loved this setup. By the time I'm done I will have side cabinet, side locker, and the top box.

Oh no I took pictures. And I did show the manager. He only authorized a 10% discount the head cashier told me she hates him and put an additional 5%. Truth is that I had an issue with the same manager when he worked in the Bayshore store. He's a ***** and treats his people the ****. As a manager myself I would never belittle an employee in front of a customer. I told her when she gets tired of his ****. To come down to my store.

What caster did you use? I've been trying to find some so I can switch them all the swivels.

A while back I scored about a dozen swivel casters from the scrap yard. They came off trashed Home Depot flat carts. Nice looking casters with zerks. And the bolt pattern matches up perfectly, it added a few inches of height and I can turn on a dime. Will post pix in the tool box thread once I transfer my tools. Still debating on a color change...leaning towards a pearl white with carbon fiber drawer pulls or a matte black with CF pulls.

I picked one of these up yesterday also, so far Im happy with it. My first order of business was going to be changing out the casters. I pulled one off and headed to Lowes. The 5" swivel casters they sell at my local store match up exactly. That said, I opted to hold out; IMHO they didnt appear to be any better than the casters that came on the box, and they didnt have any locking casters in stock.

If anyone comes up with a good part number/model that will fit - Id be interested. Im half curious to see if a set of SO casters will fit, I just dont know how to get my hands on a set without shelling out the money.

Got my 44" roller for $275 + tax. It was returned because "the lock didn't work". Of course, all the parts to MAKE the lock work were laying in the top drawer - apparently too much work for anybody to deal with. They had it marked at $300, asked what the best they could do was and got it for $275.

Also picked up a 56" roller for $699. Might not be a screaming good deal, but maybe the best I'll get without stumbling across a return or something like that. Asked the manager if they ever went on sale, she said once or twice a year maybe, not for less than $699. She offered that today and I bit...

Picked up 2 44" cabinets yesterday. Had to pay U-haul $20 to rent a trailer, but it worked out well. Sadly they had just sold out of the 2-ton crane that was on sale for $199 and a I had a 24% off coupon. I'll try to get one this weekend if the price holds.

I went to pick up the bottom chest for 349 and as I'm checking out the cashier tells me that they have an open box top chest that really wasn't an open box, it just came off the truck with a bad box so they had to sell it as open box... 199. Still too much but I just read about Inside Track members getting bigger discounts for open box items.

So I signed up, ended up getting the bottom box for 329, the top box for 125, plus the inside track membership cost. 525 out the door, was pretty stoked.
