I ended up buying four of the 24" cabinets. Going to mount them on the ends of the 8k shelves. Love those shelves. If only sears would have them on sale again so I can get two more sets.

I am thinking about buying them lol. I gotta stop at some point though because I don't even have a shop yet to put them in. I'm gonna fill up my storage shed with stuff that I have nowhere to put lol.

Don't feel bad, at the moment I have 3 mega kits, 3 fold away work stations, 2 30" cabinets, 1 gear loft, 2 30" shelves and 8 starter kits all still in boxes. Plus now the 4 24" cabinets. Not to mention the hooks I have beyond the above. A deal is a deal lol.

I like Gladiator a lot. I have 4 of their wall cabinets and 2 of their large upright cabinets. Like them....but pricey. Have to catch them when they go on sale.

Nothing wrong with Gladiator unless you really dislike the look. Fake diamond plate doesn't really float my boat, but it isn't objectionable. But... IMHO, there is no reason to by a RTA unit if you can wait until the welded ones are on sale. I got 10 of the 30" wall cabinets on sale with a flat rate of $70 to ship all 10. If you have adequate studs to screw them to, you don't need the track. 7 of my 10 are screwed to studs, the other 3 required track.

I've had to stop myself from buying anymore because I have several unopened boxes of shelves and cabinets that are just sitting out in my shed until I build my shop.

I like my Gladiator Premier cabinets a lot. Most of the Premier line is currently made in US at least mine says on the back sticker. Got the fold down workstation, Gear Locker, Tall, 5-drawer modular, etc., Strong welded square and dresses up the garage. I would check out those unopened cabinet boxes to make sure the cabinet was delivered undamaged. The outer box may look okay but out of the ten cabinets I picked up 1 or 2 had to be exchanged. Some I was able to tap the dents out. One big weakness of the Gladiator stuff is the finish. Bug spray can easily dull the finish so shoo away the pests then spray.

Gladiator premier stuffs (welded) are built with features and quality that's between HF and Snap-On KRL or Vidmar stuff.

You can get cabinets that are 24" deep, deeper than HF boxes (18") but less-deep than SO KRL or Vidmar (28").

I have quite a few gladiator stuff. I love it. Moved three times and it's still going strong, few photos as I was installing all mine.

Everyone's talking about the cabinets. I have their workbench and its the best. Any other Gladiator workbench devotees out there?

I can comment on the Gladiator workbench! Its not a bad way to go, since you can adjust the height by ~2ft, but only if you can nail them at a good sale price. Overall, they are fairly rugged for the price-point and use category they are in versus others in the same/similar classification.

I actually made a review video on YouTube about the Gladiator Workbench along with about 20-ish other Gladiator product reviews here:

Gladiator does offer a pretty large assortment of different products versus other brands. The RTA tries to appeal to a more casual crowd, people that move a lot, or are looking for something at a lower price-point, while the Premier product line is "supposed" to be for a more rugged crowd that want a little more survivability.

Cosmetically, from what I've read some may see the pseudo-diamond plate design scheme as cool, where others see it as trying too hard.

Functionally, it is really about what you intend to do with Gladiator pieces. If you want maximum performance in this price-point / intended use category the competition within the same class does make a damn good argument to buy their stuff. Some of the design choices Gladiator made left me scratching my head, while some I thought were really innovative and even fun.

Price-point swings wildly depending on where you shop and when. Gladiator at times seems a little "proud" of their product line and that seems to translate into a higher premium for what some of their pieces can actually do/offer versus others. Owning a majority of what is in the Gladiator library, I can say that there are times when I felt the premium put on the Premier brand was justified and others where I thought it wasn't.

The probability for RTA / "non-Premier" products having damage bad enough to warrant part replacement due to significant damage or parts completely missing, in my household, was ~33%. The sample size was 15 pieces.

The probability for Premier products having damage bad enough to warrant part replacement due to significant damage or parts completely missing, in my household, was ~25%. The sample size was 12 pieces.

Despite having a Sears, Home Depot, & Lowes in our area, those stores only had a small representative sample of what Gladiator offers and what was available between them was fairly comparable. Should you want to order something you can't see or touch you'll have to rely on reviews or forums to get an idea of how a product performs.

If you watch some of the videos I uploaded on YouTube you'll see that there are some products my wife and I really liked and a few others that were a little "eh." Overall, our impression is pretty neutral, but that doesn't mean we didn't have some significant issues with Gladiator, which thankfully were amended.

It wouldn't say its a starter brand by any means (i.e. cheaper plastic or MDF products). They do the job respectably, but Gladiator isn't a rough and tumble survive pretty much anything you throw at it brand. It is more of a jack of all trades master of none in this price-point/use category.

When my wife and I find a permanent residence, I'll retire my Gladiator stuff to my man-cave. I think they'd be great for that!

I have four 30" Galdiator's I hung them with the tracks.

Nice cabinets, glad I got them.

My only complaint is the shelve adjustments, if you go one notch up or down that is a 3" movement which is way to much. They should have made them 1" or 2" adjustments.

For those of you with gearwall installed, should I get the trim to put up with my panels? 39.99 a box at Lowe's. With a coupon code makes it reasonable.

That is really interesting the way you have yours installed with cabs NOT installed in the bottom channel. I don't think I have seen it done that way before.

I've got mine setup the same way. Just spaced out on the bottom with a 1x2.

I think mine may be a bit weighed down to not have the bottom bracket mounted on the back. I like the idea of leaving the bottom channel open to be used for other things though. I just don't think I can do it. I have stuff in the cabs, as well as stacked on top of them.

Yeah I didn't wanna mess with trying to get in on the bottom. It actually sits on the bottom track just not installed in it. It's solid and if I wanna lift the bottom up to slide something behind like wires or what not I can. It's just how I have installed it three times and it's effective for my install.

I have 4 of the 30" cabinets, mounted on upper and lower tracks. I also have them sitting on 4" x 4" posts, just for the extra support. I keep all my car care products, oil, spray cans and misc. stuff. The "diamond plate" doesn't bother me.

Anyone have this RTA modular 3/4 door gearbox ? Curious on your thoughts about it, whether its worth picking up or not

The RTAs are okay but I was able to get the Premier (welded square) GearBox Modular cabinets which are bigger (28x25x34.5) and have more weight capacity (1400lb/65lb per shelf) for a bit more than what RTAs are selling today with codes/points/etc.

$115 per cabinet is pretty slick for that RTA. Link shows 199. Assemble it nice and square for stuff in the garage at that price

I've got 4 of the 30" Gearboxes, bought them from Sears for $99 each, plus got 5% off for using my Sears card, they are built solid and very easy to hang and move. Best investment I've made in a long time to help clean and organize the garage.

I understand how Lowes is making certain stores Gladiator stores. Last time I checked the two stores in my area had between 19 and 21 items in stock. I checked today and only found between 14 and 15. Did they clearance the tool, utility, big and deep hooks from all of their stores? I picked up some from the now non-gladiator stores, but missed seeing any deals online for the gladiator stores.

I prefer to stick with the Premier lineup and full-depth tool chests from Gladiator. Nice finish, smooth sliding drawers and welded square and strong. Got several 30" wall cabinets in the garage and basement and 3 tall lockers. I bought all 3 pieces of that Gladiator tool box in your picture, separately from individual deals from Sears. The 18" top chest was an incredible $27 clearance (dent in back), the 17" mid chest was a $75 online deal. I really liked the 7 drawer bottom because it was tall and roomy for $220 after codes/points. I ended up returning it because the drawers never stayed closed unless locked, even after new drawer detents were sent from Gladiator. The mid chest and top chest are on $250 Gladiator modular geardrawers. I like the modular geardrawers because they are 25" DEEP and can fit under a work bench.
fyi: tough looking finish can be dulled with bug spray

so the Premiere version has the "full extension" drawers and the "Classic" version does not?

was wondering what the differences were since both versions look identical when viewing them online, but are priced very differently

Got nothing but the Premier Series of Gladiator in my garage. Not sure what the "classic" is. Premier Series tool chests come in 12" and 18.5" depth. Deeper is better.

My Gladiator premier bundle should be here early next week. Can't wait to get it all set up. I'm hoping I can mount the uppers to studs so I can use the track for other items.

GearTrack is occasionally BOGO at Sears. The track can be mounted on the studs across the wall for cabinets and/or any accessory items like hooks. The tracks allow the cabinets to slide across for adjustment and avoid the need to drill holes in the cabinet to reach a stud. I only used the upper track and ran a parallel 1 x 4 stud on the bottom (short lag bolt on the bottom). This saved additional track for somewhere else.
