Gladiator Cabinets from GarageAppeal.com?

Hey guys.

Just wondering if anyone has purchased from garageappeal.com. They seam to have the lowest prices on the Gladiator cabinets. I'm about to order around $1000 worth of cabinets and was curious about any feedback from this or other places I should look.

Any places out there giving some great garagejournal.com discounts?

I know that $1000 isn't really that much compared to a lot of the garage cabinet systems out there, but I think it will be sufficient for my basic needs. I'm mainly looking at the overhead cabinets and 1 upright.

Thanks!

Their prices are typical retail, but not great. Right now Sears is much better with the Craftsman Club discount. For instance, the 30" Premier wall cabinet from Garage Appeal is $177.95 and Sears is $149.99. With Sears you will have to pay sales tax if your state has it and if you want delivery to your door, you have to pay for that, but delivery to your local Sears is usually free. And if your not in a hurry, Sears often has even better discounts on one or two of the Gladiator pieces periodically. I got my Premier wall cabinets discounted from $179 to $81 plus tax and my 6' benches I got discounted from $399 to $137. I do recommend only going with the Premier or welded line of cabinets. The RTA series is decent, but the Premier line is much sturdier. Good luck!

The prices I paid are not currently offered...you have to just keep an eye out when they pop up. Occasionally, Sears will offer one or two of the cabinets for half price and when it falls in conjuction with a Freinds & Family (extra 10%), you can get it real cheap. That is how I got the great deal on the 30" Premier wall cabinets.

But right now, they are running about a 20% discount in the Craftsman Club Saver Days ad. Check page 7.

Yesterday, I scored two of the Gladiator stools from the Norman, Oklahoma store that originally retailed for $119 and I got them for $23.47 each (in the box)! They also have two of the Geartrack mounted Ball Caddy's that retail for $70 marked down to $15.97 each, but I really have no use for them. I have gotten into the habit of checking the Clearence section of Sears every time I'm near a store!

Awesome! I've swapped most of the cabinets out for the welded models except for a few in some lesser used areas where I wanted the exposed bottom shelf models. Much better prices from Sears.

Thanks a ton!

Here what I paid. Might could have waited for some extra special Gladiator sale, but I thought the price was great and I don't have to wait. Should be able to pickup my order anytime now. Sears has a 15% promotion on online orders over $300 plus they took off another 20%+ for the Craftsman Club special.

$127 - 30" Welded Wall Box
$110 - 24" Welded Wall Box
$237 - Welded Tall Gear Box

These are nearly the price I was going to pay for the Ready to Assemble series but are better quality and free shipping to store. I did get some of the 28" wall gearboxes with the exposed bottom shelf for one part of my garage from Garage Appeal. They were $94 a piece plus reasonable shipping and no sales tax.

Thanks again for the help!

Great! Now that you have both the welded and RTA coming, give us your opinion of the two types when you get them side-by-side.

I will. I hope to pick up the ones from Sears this week. The RTA probably won't arrive till later next week. :(

I guess this thread has kinda died....but, how do you tell at Sears, which Gladiator is the welded?
They list:
Gladiator (no sub description)
Gladiator Premier
Gladiator RTA

Yeah, I had almost forgot about posting an update. Here you go!

I've got 4 ready to assemble and 7 welded cabinets.
1. The welded ones are pre-assembeled, because they are all welded. No assembly required. Take them out of the box and hang them on the wall. The ready to assemble took about 10 to 15 mins each to get them put together with a lot of little screws and bolts. Kind of a pain, but I got faster at it by the time I got to the 4th one.
2. Fit and finish is better on the welded as the bolt together have a little slop in the corners.
3. Structural integrity is better on the welded models with no loose parts to deal with.
4. The cabinet latches are way better on the welded as they use large wrap around magnet closures instead of the rinky dink snap closed versions. You can just swing the welded models closed whereas the RTA requrire a deliberate push and lock.

For the money, the RTA are a nice and solid cabinet, but I'm glad I got the welded ones for the roller cabinets and for all of my tool and work areas. The RTA are being used to hold some of the kids less frequently used play stuff and some gardening supplies. They wont' see a lot of action and I really like the model with the open bottom shelf without the door.

Take your pick!
There really is a pretty huge difference in stability between the two. First

Was at a Sears store yesterday and Gladiator is 20% off again. On their website, they hint at another 15% off for ordering online. I tried to "almost buy" something to see that last 15%, but it started asking for a credit card before I saw any price change, so I just stopped.
A new craftsman Club saver days is running from May 9th to the 15th, so I'll see if any more discount shows up there.

Did anyone happen to jump on the Lowes deal last week for the Gladiator tall storage cabinet and they tossed in the two door wall cabinet for free. I think both together was something like $159 (?) I was going to get in on it and forgot

I saw that one, but then found out it was for the Ready To Assemble line and I want to get the welded ones.

Now I don't even see it mentioned. Possibly that was just a 2 day deal and it expired.
On another note, I have signed up for email notification, but never get one when a new sale comes out.
