Gladiator GAWP082PBY 8' GearWall

Hi again! I was about to pull the trigger on some GAWP082PBY 8' GearWall panels on eBay and did a final check of pricing through other sites. On Amazon, I saw quite a few complaints about the corners of the 8' panels not being square. So, I have taken my finger off the trigger.

Has anyone installed the 8' panels and notices this problem? I have to wonder if eBay and Amazon are getting the panels which failed quality assurance testing and maybe Sears, Lowes, HD get the ones that pass QA. Would love to hear from anyone using the 8' panels and how square all the corners were and where they purchased from. Maybe we can build a small data set that will help others out with their purchase.

If all of the 8' panels are suspect, I could do everything in 4' section I suppose but that would be twice the work. In the end, the wall should look professional and if the 8' panels are going to potentially leave me with a 1/8" gap on one end or something like that then I can't purchase them.

Other complaints were that the 8' panels were +/- up to a 1/4" in length and 1/8" in height. Having those kinds of variables make building a professional looking wall very challenging to say the least.

Okay, I post long messages because I type kind of fast. Sorry about that. Let's hear it folks! How did your 8' panels from Gladiator measure up? Perfect 1' x 8' and perfectly square? Sometimes smaller? Bigger? Out of square?

I'm not sure what prices you are seeing, but it seems really expensive compared to real slat wall from suppliers like ULine. With ULine you get (2) 4'x8' sheets of slat wall for $170. With GearWall you (2) 1'x8' pieces for $105. That's 64 SF vs 16 SF. ULine also sells aluminum inserts that up the loading factor to 90 lbs per slat. GearWall says 50 lbs per SF. Not sure how that compares.

Thanks My Old Tools, is ULine 100% compatible with the Gladiator line of hooks and bins and organizers? The reason I was looking at Gladiator is because they have a great selection of things to hang on their wall. I am totally open to other brands but pretty set on the hooks and such I have selected (not purchased). If another vendor has equivalent items for their wall, I would be all over it.
