Gladiator GearTrack for Garage Wall Issue

I bought several 4' x 1' panels to install on my wall above my gladiator workbench and for another garage wall to hang mucho **** on.

First step of course is to locate the studs behind drywall. Believe it or not they are spaced 4' apart. Obviously this will not work.

Arent garage studs normally 2' apart?

Now I have to install plywood first into all the studs, then the Geartrack?

I fastened mine to longer 2x6 boards, my studs were not spaced evenly either, hope this helps

Most wall studs are 16" apart, although I've seen 24". If you can't find them then I would do as suggested and attach a 2x6 and then attach the panel to it.
