I have used the tracks on my last garage, and my current one. Mostly because they are relatively cheap and make installing them by yourself quick and easy. You can level out the track and just lift the cabinet. Likely could use some other sort of mounting method to save the few bucks in track. You need a way to get them screwed into a stud, so mounting directly on osb or another sort of cross member that can be anchored. By the time you do all this, the $20 you save in track isn't worth it.
I took some 2x4s and cut them to 30" in length and then anchored those to the studs in the exact locations I wanted the cabinets around the garage. I was then able to use existing holes in the cabinets to mount them directly to the 2x4s that I had mounted to the studs.
A great and inexpensive solution is a French cleat. There's a recent thread about it that might be helpful to you. I've done this with not just the wall cabinets, but the larger floor cabinets as well. There are lots of good reasons from durability, to ease, to cost, etc.
I just lag bolted mine straight to the header and wall studs in my garage. Used the free track sections they included in other areas cause I wanted my cabinets flush to the wall at the back as opposed to sticking out a few inches
