Gladiator Premier vs. NewAge Bold or Pro Series

First time poster...I've searched the forum, and while there is much positive said about Gladiator's welded "Premier" series...there seems to be little posted about NewAge's Bold or Performance series. I see several comments "I ordered" or "I have"...but I haven't come across any "reviews"

So, for those of you with Newage "Bold" or Performance cabinets...what do you think...do really find the 24g metal to be insufficient for the average garage? Do you wish you upgraded to 18g Pro series.

It's easy to say "buy the 18g" when its not your money...so I guess the question is: If your rockin 24g Newage cabinets...would you spend the money to buy 18g if you had to do it all over again.

For me, I don't work on cars...will never have "parts" like that to store...power tools, car was stuff, misc fasteners, the typical homeowners garage stuff.

Thanks for any feedback guys. I want to order soon...as soon as the rain quits here in Michigan and my garage dries, I plan to epoxy and poly the floor...then I'm ready to put stuff away.

i installed the New Age Pros a couple weeks ago. Decided the extra $$ was worth it for the gauge difference. They are very high quality, well finished, and solid due , to how heavy the metal is. I've got some drawers loaded with hardware, tools in a couple, car parts, etc. and the drawers roll great and fit the openings very well. The doors are solid, hinges strong. one thing i did not realize when i ordered was the base cabinets with doors all had pullout shelves included. The Pro cabinets are also deeper than the others. Worth the difference? Probably, but I've never had the other brands or other NA types. Bought these through Overstock.com, fast shipping, no damage. 3 base, 3 upper, butcherblock top was $1750 delivered with a coupon.

I went with the newage pro series. Not so much for the 18g metal, more so because of the extra depth of the cabinets and the extra height of the lockers. Got the 10 piece set from Costco.com. So far I am very impressed.

I suspect I would have been happy with the bold or the performance series, but I do think the size and features of the Pro were definitely worth it.

I have the New Age Performance series that are sitting in my garage. I only have 1 mounted so far so I haven't created my review thread yet. With that said, I really like them but need to mount them to get my stall back. :)
I will say, the actual shelf seems very light but it does have a rib down the middle for extra support. They attach to the sides with little tabs that slip in grooves. Time will tell if they will hold up but I also don't plan on storing hundreds of pounds on each shelf.
I couldn't swing the more expensive ones as these were expensive enough for me. Once they're mounted, I think they will be perfect for me!
Also, on the mounting, I am using the Lowes Kobalt cabinet mounts so I can mount them on their k rails. The mount kits work perfect and makes it easier for one person to mount them.
Good luck!

I have the Gladiators (two 24" premier, two 30" premier, one 48x72x18" RTA).

Diamond plate *****. I wish I hadn't bought 5 of these already. At least they were cheap though, I paid <$700 for the set).

We sell more NewAge Pro-Series than the 24 gauge Bold cabinets. The Bold were added to compete with the welded Gladiator Cabinets. The Performance line is new and going to be gauge and sold only from the Costco and Sam's Club type of retailers. Performance cabinets come in both 18 and 24 gauge.

Sold 36 5 drawer tool cabinets to hotel at Disney World. They used two in each room with a solid surface worktop as dressers in the kid's bedroom of some suites. One customer used the stainless steel cabinets her kitchen.

Thanks to all. Sears has ridiculously low pricing on newage Pro stuff...until you factor in shipping :(. Anyhow, I got all geeked until the ship[ping charges were added, and ended up by a 5 cabinet Pro taupe series...To go with my light blue epoxy garage floor

Thanks

Gladiator Select Line. 3 years and holding up fine. Bought them 1 or2 at a time when on sale at Sears.

I'm happy with my Gladiator Premier wall cabinets. I tapcon'ed them to my CBS walls, in the four corners, w/wide flat (fender) washers, and a ledger board rail underneath. I probably didn't need the ledger board rail, but it's made it easier to mount the cabinets, and helps with the load-bearing. I don't have much heavy in them.

I also have a full wall of Gladiator shelving, ~20 ft of it. I cut-down the depth to make it fit the wall return space, so it doesn't project-into the overhead door opening distance, going through the garage. I have a lot of weight on them and they are not showing any issues. One thing I did to make it easier to move things on the wire shelf surface was to cut some masonite panels to fit the wire rack shelf dimensions, making it easier to store and to move things, compared-to the widely-spaced wire shelf rods.
