Found the following on Sears.com along with plenty of other Gladiator storage / organization accessories:

http://www.sears.com/gladiator-77inch-4-shelf-rack-8000-lb-capacity/p-00959093000P

Most of the shelving in my garage is used, craigslist pallet racking. However, at $150, this has my interest. It's kind of like mini pallet racking. Has two uprights, 8 beams and wire decking. Only 24" deep where as most of my racking is 42" deep to actually accommodate a pallet.

Stopped by Lowes after work to see if they had one I could actually look at. They didn't but I noticed their Gladiator stuff was on sale also, actually came in cheaper than the same stuff in the Kobalt brand. Looking at this particular shelf, Sears beats out Amazon, Lowes and HD with this price.

Anyone have any experience with this stuff? I'm thinking about picking up one or two units.

I own six of them. Excellent heavy duty shelves. And that's a great price!

Not much cheaper than other places. Free shipping sweetens the deal though.

As already stated. Good heavy unit (for a non-commercial unit).

I cut some 1/4" Luan to fit and put it over the wire shelves and it allowed stuff to slide around easier along with keeping stuff from falling through the wire. It also brought the top of the shelf almost even with the top of the rail so there wasn't as much of a lip there.

The Sears website hates my phone so I couldn't get all the specs but it looks comparable to this which is all over the swing area of your HD at $159 right now:
http://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-77...l-Garage-Shelving-Unit-ERZ782478W-4/202251082

I've assembled several and they're pretty good. The crossmembers that support the center of the wire are cheesy sheetmetal bent into a V. I scrapped 'em and built new ones w 1x2 rectangular tube which slides right into place.

I also bolted all the joints rather than use their stupid plastic push pins.

The Gladiator is better than the Husky. I have 3 of the Gladiators, and was looking to get more, and looked at the Husky as a possible alternative. As you mentioned, the cross members are **** on the Husky, but no modifications necessary on the Gladiator. There were no pins or such on the Gladiator, and still feels quite solid. Unless the Husky became significantly cheaper, I'll keep my eyes on the Gladiators.

I just wish I could get more individual shelving cheaper. Originally I made my 3 sets, to look like 4 less shelving on each secretion. As I've come to store smaller stuff, I could just the extra shelves, but don't need to extend the length

The standard Sears price is $200 for the big shelf units. I've bought 4 of them when they go on-sale, and $150 is as-low as I've seen. The Gladiator brand is from Whirlpool. I found mine to be very robust.

I also needed a less-deep shelf, so I reduced the Gladiator depth to be 13 inches. This involved cutting the end brackets from 24" to 13"; I was originally planning to weld everything but my friend with a TIG convinced me otherwise. I ended up using square aluminum hollow stock tubing inside the front-to-back shelf braces, and through-bolting them together with stainless steel hex machine screws, flat washers, and nylock nuts. For the end pieces, where the shelves clip into-place, I cut square PT lumber and again, through-bolted it. Where the end pieces are braced with a u-channel welded top and bottom, I used smaller nuts and bolts to bolt the diagonal brace in-place. I only had to cut one end loose and a bit of measuring gave me the final diagonal length I would need.

The reason I went through all this was my 2 car garage only has 19" returns beyond the garage door openings (two single doors 8' W x 7' H). I have a collection of vinyl LP's I wanted to place on the shelves, so a 13" depth was plenty. Also, if I pull a car in on that side, the 18" shelf depth would interfere with easy egress from the vehicle. I don't usually keep a vehicle in there, but if we get a hurricane, I could. The entire gable end of the garage where the overhead doors are is steel-reinforced solid concrete, and the building is CBS masonry, as are most homes in south Florida.

I just saw that Lowe's is offering 25% off Gladiator now, so that's another place to check, and it looks like what is on sale may differ by store, so go check. I bought five of the 30" X 30" X 12" deep welded steel cabinets and have them tapcon-ed to my masonry walls, a great storage solution, as they hold a lot of weight and have 2 adjustable shelves, and the doors will take pegboard hanger hooks on the inside.

I saw that Costco had something similar this weekend, about the same size, and from what I could tell, the metal gauge was similar, they were under $140.

Yup. I've got around 30 or so; branded by three companies. The Gladiator units follow the original Gorilla pattern, and as a result are tougher than the new units you can get from another brand.

Don't buy the black units currently sold by Lowes, Sam's and the like. They are good enough, but they are more flimsy. The same goes for anything else in stores. You're not getting the same quality, even if it's close to identical at first glance.

At $150 a piece, get as many of those things as you can!

I love the wire shelves. You can see through them, and they are less likely to attract curious spiders. Things stay more well-lit on the shelves, as well.

That said, for smaller items, I've been known to drop some acrylic up there to keep them from falling through; such as books and manuals.

Picked up one unit today. Only one of the few Sears around here had any in stock, this store had 3, including the one I bought. I went in and looked around a bit and it was sad. This particular Sears is huge and is at the end of a enormous shopping mall. There were 2 TVs on display in electronics with all that other wall space just bare.

Anyways, pretty much all the Gladiator stuff is on sale. Most of it is now cheaper than the Craftsman stuff.

Got mine home, opened it up and everything was damage free. I sat everything on my wagon, will throw it together this weekend. Very nice finish and heavy built. I feel like $150 was a heck of a buy. May have to get the last two!

I received an email telling me my order was ready. In fine print at the bottom it says "Orders not picked up after 30 days are subject to cancellation and refund".

If it takes you 20 minutes, you stopped in the middle to drink a beer, and to eat some peanuts.

Though I had an order that I forgot about sit at my (now defunct) Sears for 3+ months. While picking up another order, they came out with this fedex bag, and said this has your name on it too. Uhh, ok? Ya, it's been here for a while. Oh, thanks for the reminder call, that I would normally receive multiples of on my other orders. I still can't fathom why they would close a store like that. :headscrat

The Costco shelves appear to be heavy duty and well made.
The Costco shelves are from the same manufacturer as the Home Depot shelves (Husky brand, but they're not the actual manufacturer), and they're damn-near identical. A while back, I stumbled on the Home Depot racking on sale for $119. I had been comtemplating the Costco or Home Depot racking for a few weeks, and the sale price sealed the deal. I love mine, and need to get another set of them. Someone else mentioned adding luan sheets to help make the shelves more user-friendly, and I had also planned to do the same.

Just read today where Sears and Whirlpool are parting ways. I also saw on the Gladiator boxes that they are a division of Whirpool. Guess Sears was just getting rid of them.
