I wasn't going to spend the $, but I was starting to feel like the only guy in America who hadn't taken advantage of this sale. So...I stopped in the South Philadelphia store yesterday and got one at $29.50. One, however just wasn't enough so I called around to a few other store and found one today in Oaks, PA that had 10 left. I didn't worry about the price because I had the receipt from yesterday so I went to pick up 2 more. The price on the shelf tag said $29.50, but they rang up at $59.00. I showed them the receipt and told them about the shelf tag and they had no problem changing the price to $29.50. So there are 8 more ledt at the Oaks, PA store.

It seems liek you could get them to change the price to $29.50, buy out the inventory, then return them in a few weeks without a receipt and you could end up getting $59.00 each back...I'm sure someone's already thought of this...

Hey Buckled:

Since you were in South Philly, why didn't you stop in at TONY LUKE'S for a Philly cheese steak sandwich or roast pork sandwich....that is the NUMERO UNO place!!!!!

I'm in and around Philly every day and have eaten my fair share of Tony Lukes and various other cheesesteaks. How are the cheesesteaks in Ontario...?

The people in Ontario don't have a clue what a good cheese steak sandwich tastes like.
If I want one, I need to make it myself, but there is no place here that makes the "Amoroso" bread needed for the sandwich. I have to substitute with a baguette....TOTALLY Sacrilegious!!.
Next time you are Tony Luke's, please have an extra one for the guy in Leamington, Ontario.

I bought two on Tuesday for $29.50, they had 6 left than. Went back Wednesday to get more and they were than $59 and they were out. That's okay, I didn't have room for anymore. I hope who ever got the remaining 6, got them at the lower price.

Guys:

THE BAD NEWS: I regret to report that I tried my best at the Hammond, Louisiana Lowe's yesterday (Feb. 19th) afternoon, but nothing doing. The manager on duty pulled that item up on a computer terminal and showed me the code "S" which he explained meant that it was classified as a stocked item in that store. He also said that the stores blowing 'em out weren't selling hardly any, and that stores selling plenty will not mark them below $98. He wouldn't budge from their $49 price, even when I showed him my two receipts for $24.72 each and asked to buy six from him.

THE GOOD NEWS: He also showed me on the bottom right of the monitor, in front of God and everybody, the store's cost... $57.07 Now won't that make everyone lucky enough to have purchased some have a great weekend and feel pretty damn proud of their finds?

I'll say it again... HAPPY HUNTING!!!

I was shut down at another local store this evening. I was even armed with my yellow "Clearance" tag ($29.50) off of the display model I had gotten in another store. They wouldn't budge an inch. The manager did however tell me that it was showing in the computer that the price would be updated or possibly lowered on 4/1. She told me to check back in weekly before then though too.

My wife thinks I'm crazy. She told me tonight that I have garage cabinet OCD.

Total now stands at 857 and seems to be drastically slowing down. But tax refunds are forthcoming and maybe GarageWorks will drop the price on another item or two. I really need one or two of the long cabinets:lol_hitti

Stuey...You say that you are pleased with the process? How long does it take you to assemble one? I got it down to around 40 minutes by myself. Just the unpackaging is a pain, but the styrofoam blocks the bolts and nuts come in make handy containers. I first seperate all of the items out into the block holes. Then lay the top, bottom, and two side panels out. Then I start droping the 1/4-20 button head bolts through all four corners. Then nut them. This holds it rigid enough now to flip it over and do the same to the other side. After that I flip it back over and drop on the two back panels and use a power screwdriver to secure the back panels. With that done it is time for the shelves. Then to the doors. Not a bad process, but time consuming. It averages out to about a beer per cabinet

I'm am getting ready to go out there now and try to get most of these together today.

I don't think I can drink 38 beers though. The cabinet assembly would probally cease after about 6 :) I'll try my best.

It's not that it was time consuming, but there were too many snags.

The panels would not square up, and some of the "threaded" screw holes were not threaded properly. It looks as if they were not threaded and instead only lined with a semi-soft material into which threads could be cut. Well, I had to resort to a power driver and a lot of pressure to get those screws to lock in.

I'm still annoyed that I had to employ washers as spacers, and will likely have to find thicker shims.

It took me about an hour, including the frustrating 'what the heck' moments.

As usual, there is never a clearance on anything in the Houston area. I hate this place.

Our Lowe's raised the price to $59.00. I thought the $29.50 price was part of Obama's stimulus pkg. Oh well fun while it lasted!

Autoist - where did you get them? They have some in Cullman but the manager won't come off the $59 price, I even had him check the Huntsville stores but he said they are at $59 also.

this is killing me, the Fort Payne store told me everybody was out except Cullman. I called and they said they were $118 so I talked to the store Manager and, according to him , after talking to their HQ and checking all the N AL locations, he said $59 was all he could do.
I'm going by in the Morning on my way to MS so I'll let you know

I bought 13, and if you put all the bolts in and then the screws, all finger tight only, then you can tighten the screws, and lastly the bolts and everything lines up good. (It's the Made in China way) LOL

That's what I did. The frame didn't fit together properly, though (photos) and the machine screw holes did not thread easily or properly. Could have just been a unique and isolated case if poor QC, though.

I called corporate headquarters today & had them check to see if there were any cabinets left in Alabama - nope all gone....she said if I wanted, she could check the surrounding states & I could go buy them from my local store & pay shipping....1.800.445.6937.....& go all the way to "customer service representative" - last option, I think.....she looked up the part number & confirmed $29.50.

Most of my cabinets are like yours, I just tightened them down and pulled them in. They don't look bad-just slightly deformed.

Now, I did have one cabinet that every piece in the box was bent. The box itself was ok-no damage at all. It would appear that all damaged parts were bundled together in one box. All 4 corners of the doors were bent flat. I was going to box it up and take it back, but decided to keep it and fix it.

Worked on the doors and they came out looking ok. The side pieces and shelves look good. Using a block of wood on the cabinet and hitting the wood with a hammer. I'll probably do the same on all the corners of the other cabinets that are slightly deformed to straighten them out.
