I'm been looking for a Gladiator 8' Maple NON-Adjustable Height Work table.

My dad bought one from sears for 180-200 and I've been trying to find another one but they are all 500-600 bucks w/ adj legs! I've been thinking about giving him my little craftsman tool chest for it since I want to get the HF tool chest. No he doesn't use it :lol_hitti

Is this a close enough substitute?

DJ: the Seville bench 66 and Dave just posted is a solid bench, but not quite the Gladiator. Costco if you have a store in your area sold a less expensive almost identical bench to the Gladiator for i think $199 a few years ago so check your Craigslist for them because they are decent. some young people in my area bought that Costco bench and made a sort of dining table bar out of it in their condo so i picked up mine that had never been used as a work bench. picture attached is a Costco version that was just tall enough for me to get the storage cabinets under. or a Gladiator bench pops up on Craigslist for $200-400 every now and then when the owner is moving out of state.

another idea is picking up some nice commercial doors and making my a bench top from them. this is a pile i picked up when i found a guy taking them out of a nice commercial building in my area. i asked him if he had plans for them and when he said he didn't i offered him some cash for them. he agreed to a decent deal to let me have them and helped me load them in my empty trailer. they weigh about 150 pounds each so be prepared or bring a friend to help load them. Mine are solid 2 inch 8 x 3 foot doors and where the door knobs used to be i can use for wire runs. i can also put on a Masonite or stainless top if i don't want to use the mahogany or cherry wood veneer finish that are on them.

do you already own a Gladiator tool chest? Seville actually makes some nice tool chests that roll under their table and the Costco table is the same size as Gladiators. just a thought

That I'm going to see if dad want to trade for the table.

It seems as if Costco does not sell the work bench anymore I found it on google but not on their site.

My dad will be hurting for tools when I move all my tools outs of his shop. He bought the air compressor but all the air tools are mine and etc. So he will buy some tools but needs a place to put them. At least I'll have something to buy him for xmas since he doesn't have the specialty tools that I have.

I found one on a big sale last year around Thanksgiving, if I recall. Sears, Gladiator 8ft w/adjustable feet. Not sure on how their sale structure/timing works.

DJ: yes Costco doesn't sell them currently because they went to a smaller version. that doesn't say they won't be selling any tomorrow because they change their inventory all the time.

since they did sell a lot of them that's why i mentioned Craigslist to maybe find a nice used one that somebody didn't beat to hell or even used as a dining table like i did.

if you can't find a nice bench to buy with your talent i'm sure and a day's effort you'll have a built a better one than you can buy with your specs.

good luck
