Gladiator workbench questions????

I have all of my garage done in gladiator and right now I have 2 bottom cabinets with 18" versa top and no casters. I have 2 tall cabinets hanging on wall exactly 8' apart inside to inside. I want the 8' butchers block top workbench but the idiot that built the house has all the walls in the garage set back 4" off of the concrete cap block so nothing on the floor will come close to wall and everything falls off over in the back. So does the gladiator workbench have an overhang and can be switched around to go up next to the wall?

You could always take a piece of aluminum and mount it to the back of the bench top to act as a stop. Not only would it look nice but it would be functional too.

Or if you know that bench will be in that location for a long time just get a top that will extend to the wall.

The Gladiator stuff does look nice. I really like the finish on the cabinets.

My gladiator workbenches (bamboo top) have a slight, but equal overhang on the front and back. The power strip is a good idea for a backstop since it attaches directly to the back of the bench.

yeah i thought about the powerstrip but it sits on top of the bench and still leaves a gap. I could do the filler (ex 4x4) but id rather not. I know the bamboo is made to different dimensions than the maple butchers block top one is.

I know what you mean. I have the same issue so I just dont put the bench up against those walls. Thankfully enough there is one wall without the concrete cap jutting out from the wall. GW is coming out with a bench with adjustable legs, so if you get that one, you can set the back legs higher so it will fit against the wall. Cool eh?

check out all my GW **** I got for cheap...you have to look around though:

Never thought about it until Matty D mentioned it but if the bench is going to stay up against that wall, you could cut the bottoms of the back legs off, and restthe legs on the concrete cap. Additionally, you could get plastic inserts to go into square tubing to add leveler feet to make it look like it was meant to be that way.

Another option might be to offset the table top so that there is more overhang on the back than on the front. Not sure if it would buy you 4" of overlap but you could definitely check it out.
