I really like that WERA driver. I have several of them, and have given a bunch as gifts to friends. They come preloaded with several differnt bit options.

I wouldn't call it a "gimmick" screwdriver, it's fairly plain, but I've been wanting a Picquic multi-bit screwdriver (like this) - Rona, Canadian Tire, and Home Depot carry them around here, and the handle has a really nice feel to it.

Picquic makes a very good screwdriver. Made in canada too boot!

Its so good that stanley cloned it and is likely making it offshore:mad:

I keep a black and decker? T-shaped driver in my glove box, due to its slim profile.

Thanks for all the replies.
I have used Snap-on basic black handle screwdrivers for the last 30 years so any thing else seams like a gimmick to me. LOL
I will look at Home Depot and see if they carry the Picquic.

The orange ones from home depot are really good. Like $4. I also have the snap-on version that comes with 4 flat tips and a few torx ones that all store in the shaft. Honestly 20x more than the home deopt version and in real life works just as well.

I keep a gimmicky screwdriver in the glove box in my truck. In my car I keep a tool bag with some basic tools in the trunk. In my glove box I generally keep a Mini Mag light with LED, an ice scraper, gloves, and a Glock 23 in my car. You never know what conditions you will be in when you might have to change a flat.

I think I've seen that Stanley version, but it fell well short of the Picquic - lacked the feel and weighting.

I'm a fan of basic tools, too. I don't mind thinking of multi-bit screwdrivers as good basic tools, but it's the retract-a-bit types or ones some are hard to use, or with hard to use or easy to break storage compartments that I find gimmicky and really dislike.

Doesn't look like Picquic has a dealer locator on their site, but if your HD doesn't carry them you can email Picquic and see if they have a local distributor.

Haven't seen that Irwin one, looks all right, too.

Along those lines I keep my sig P245 in a gun safe that is hidden in my center console in my F150.
