I have had my Glu-Bot wood glue bottle for a year:

And it was only yesterday that I realized the little nub on the lid is to hold the nozzle cap while you're using it:

All this time I've been holding the dangly nozzle cap out of the way with my other hand.

Some of us learn very slowly, slow is better than never.

I had never before seen a GluBot bottle.

Stupid name, good design. Hold bottle upright and squeeze, glue comes out the top like a watering can. Puts an end to turning bottles upside down to fart out glue impatiently.

Been using these for years. Worth every penny. Easy to squeeze even when glue is getting low. Dispenses in any position. No drips.

There is a small (4 oz ?) version too, that is handy to keep in toolboxes.

Looks like an interesting tool, but- how do you clean it out to refill it? Or do you just throw it out and get a new one? Seems like a PITA to clean out.

I just run hot water through them most of the time. Seems to get most of the residue out. I only clean them once in a while. Probably about every five fills. When the glue gets low I just add more. The spout is removable so a thin bottle brush can be used if needed. I have put several gallons of Lee Valley Cabinetmakers glue through them. I really only clean, if the bottle has been sitting nearly empty for a long time. That is when glue tends to build up on the sides. Even then they generally still work fine.

Did it come with instructions? Not that you would have read them anyway ;)

I don't think it did. I ordered it from Amazon and it came from a marketplace seller. I think the seller was buying cases of them and splitting them up. But I may be mistaken. It's been a year, and I don't even remember what I had for lunch yesterday.

These things are awesome, so convenient to use. I also put tire dressing gel in them. so much faster then having to invert the bottle and shake. Also cleaner since you don't get splatter.

for some reason my cap doesn't stay on the nub. I guess it has stretched out over the years and just falls off now.
