Let’s start by saying this is my first post here, thanks for having me.

I was at a vintage motorcycle festival in Ohio this weekend and picked up this really nice Yost vise at the swap meet. For the life of me I can’t find anything matching it on the internet. I’ve contacted Yost and they even tried to help me out on finding out some information on it but they also couldn’t find anything. I’m wondering if anybody here has any information on this vise. It’s in great shape! It is a swivel jaw (fixed base) vise. The casting says GM Yost 68 right behind the swivel jaw. Any info would be greatly appreciated! There is a yost 68 with a swivel jaw in the vise spreadsheet. Unfortunately no links to a picture.

If you find a Post by KMScott still have a link to the spreadsheet to his signature. Can't get it easily off my phone.

Wow! That's a really nice Yost no. 68 swivel jaw vise and the first one I've seen. I don't know the date of your vise, but suspect it's before 1920 due to the "G.M. Yost" casting on it. Yost stopped using the "G.M." in their advertising in the late 1910's.

Here's a catalog scan from 1927 showing your model.

Is the jaw width, opening and weight accurate? I'd like to add your vise to the "Vise Info Thread".

Thank you very much. I’ll check all the dimensions and such when I get home. The only real issue with this vise is the pin in the swivel jaw, it has gotten buggered up with pliers or something. Thinking about turning up a new one with a little more room to get your fingers on, or maybe even a knob.

The jaw width and weight are correct, but I’m not certain how to measure the opening.
