Go Jak style dollies

So I really like the idea of being able to move cars around without having to jack up the car. The GOJAKs are the original style but at $800 that's a lot of money.. Eastwood has them and their version for $429? Any tried either one?

I have and they are a Customer of mine so I even get an employee discount... Just can't seem to find them in stock even though I see thousands of them in the warehouse!!!! lol

I have the Canadian Tire ones. Probably the same as you would get at HF. They work. No problem moving huge GM RWD cars from the 70s.

I have an old original set of Gojacks at the shop and we've beat them pretty hard. They're finally getting a bit worn out now after 15yrs.

I have a pair of the Harbor Freights and a set of OTC's. The OTC's are a little more money than the HF but they do appear to be higher quality. My only complaint is the casters are plastic and moving heavy vans and suv's on asphalt I have broken a few casters.

I just bought a pair of the HF ones. I would definitely recommend them. I use them for maneuvering cars for winter storage. it's kind of tight, and hard to pull the cars into line without doing a 20 point turn. I used them on the back axle to swing the rear around. Had them under a 62 Impala, 72 Chevelle, and an 89 Camaro they worked great. The only problem was with the Camaro, the 245/50/16 tires were a bit wide for them.

We have a set of real Go Jaks at work, they're expensive as hell, especially over here in Canada, but they work very well.

I have both - GoJaks and HF. Light years difference between the two. It's all about the wheels and the bearings. The very first time we used the GoJaks, we put a 5,100 pound car on them. Then, my 85 pound mother rotated it 180 degrees with one hand.
That said, if you only ever use the HF ones, you will probably be happy because you won't know what you are missing. Once you use the GoJaks, you will realize how inadequate the others are. They are a lot of money, but they are an investment. Just ask the guy above who's had them for 15 years.
The HF ones I have now sit in a corner unused. I only keep them in case I ever need to have two cars on skates at the same time.
