I got a quote for $2800 for a 2-car garage. It's a pretty normal size attached garage. Includes grinding, chips, and doing the sills. I was hoping for something closer to $1000 range. Is polyurea something you can do yourself?

I was quoted $6 sf (1200 sf @ $7200), does that match your $2800 quote? I passed.

My guesstimate is a 2-car garage is roughly 400sf, so maybe close to your $6/sf.

You can definitely DIY polyurea. The price will depend on the amount of prep required and quality of materials. IME you get what you pay for. If my estimate of your size is correct, $1k may be a little low, if you factor in the cost of renting grinding equipment and buying tools.

2800 is to much.... $1000 is not enough...

$4 a sq. ft. was what I got 3 quotes at... that was for partial flake. Full flake was quite a bit more expensive...

You can DIY polyurea... I did with Legacy Nohr-S.

Add about $250 above the cost of their kit for the floor grinder rental and any other tools you might need.

Professionally installed polyurea / polyaspartic garage floor coatings are going to run an average of $6 per square foot and up. Epoxy floor coating systems generally average $4 per square foot and up.

If you are good with following directions and have some attention to detail, you can install your own single-part polyurea garage floor coating system for much less $$ as stated by the vendors above. The vendors on this forum are excellent with helping the DIY guy out. In addition, it's actually easier to do than the store bought DIY kits from your local home improvement center.
