man I love my cman stuff but im not sure I love it that much. Altho for that price. But I have to ask? what do you do with them? I would think if they are gold plated they are simply a dust collectors item. kinda cool but i already have enough nicknaks
thanks for sharing tho. must not sell alot of em and they must really want them to move if they are almost giving them away.
sadly enough. they do. craftsman even offers lazer etching with your name. I dont see why you would ever want that tho. mayve if you thought craftsman was the best company in the whole wide world and you had more money than sense
I cant seem to find it on sears right now but they had a gold collectors ratchet in a wood case. maybe they clearanced those out too since nobody bought them?
Well, all the gold-plated tool stuff aside, each one of them has a different vintage Craftsman logo. I'm not a Craftsman collector, but it could be kind of a cool thing to own if you were. Especially for $19.95, which includes a walnut display box. They do note that while they're "guaranteed forever," that if you turn one of these back in you're getting a regular chrome socket to replace it.
My Canadian Tire ratcheting wrench set clearly states "22 Karat Gold Plating" but I don't see any reference to the type of gold plating that is on these. I've seen some SO stuff that was 24 katat plating too and it was also clearly marked. It makes me wonder if they used real gold or just some gold coloured plating.
That's a gamble, I bought my 22 Karat gold plated ratchet wrenches for $19.95 off ebay ($35.00 total with shipping) and the guy had them listed multiple times before before I came along and finally bought them. I figured the regular ones normally sold in the stores for $79.99 so it's a no brainer. I had planed on using them along with my other tools but my buddies persuaded me to save them unused. There was a set on CL locally for $79.99 that no one would buy either. I think originally you could get them in metric as well which I'd like to get now that I'n in this far.
Several years ago, I bought a set of GP combo wrenches for my most senior mechanic on his 40th anniversary. Had them engraved with his name & the occasion. He loved them, but I doubt the finish ever gets wear tested much!
