Hi guys,
We recently moved from a house with a one-car garage to a house with a two-car garage. While this may not seem like a lot to most of you, the two-car space feels like a big improvement over the old space to me.
OLD:
At the old house, we had some issues with items that were stored in the garage, namely the shop vac and skateboards with the arrows next to them in the first picture.
OUCH!
OUCH AGAIN!
So the lesson learned is don't have a garage with too much junk in it ready to fall on the car. Sometimes this is easier said than done. Anyway here are some pics of the new place.
NEW:
Yes, old habits die hard. As you can see, it's a complete wreck right now. Since moving in, it's become a dumping ground for everything we don't know where to put. As small as our last place was (1100 SF), it had an attic, which this new place doesn't have. It's been sort of a problem for the "let's hide this stuff away" items.
The goal right now is to clean up the garage, get an area where I can work, put in a laundry/utility tub, get some storage for the stuff we don't want to see out all the time and provide a safe area to keep my car.
At the moment, the Porsche is out for a top-end rebuild, clutch and flywheel and will probably be out for a couple of months. I just finished a gig (I edit reality TV shows), so the time is right to start attacking the garage. I'm looking forward to learning some tips from all of you and I'll update this thread as I finish things and have questions.
