good 1/2 impact for under 200?

I have old IR w/extended 1/2" for wheel changes, C'man, Cornwell, Napa (Japan made) and NitroKitty.
NitroKitty 1200K is my go to for all except IR for wheels.

I have an IR231XP I found at the pawn shop for $40 slightly used. Use it mostly for taking wheels off and when I have to work outside. My main gun is and old MAC AW5500 that's about 5 or 6 years old. It's back up is a newer Matco Mt1769a. All of these guns can be picked up for less than $200 with some searching. The equivalent of the MAC AW5500 is the original IR2135 and the MATCO Equivalent is the IR2135Ti Max. Which are obviously easier to find sub $200 price range in the used market.

I really can't belive 316 from snap on cuz the flier said somthing like 435. But our snap on guy is kinda out for blood. What the book says is what he charges or over. Our mac guy always knocks money off and so does the matco guy. He's not the best at warrentys either. Broke a tip of a snapp screw driver and he's had it for over a month. I pretty much just quit asking. Lol sry back to the 725. It is a good gun but its bulkyness ***** somtimes in tight spots of course and it honestly sucked right out of the box. Took abt a months or so to break it in. But pretty much everybody else that I work with has ir and there all pretty good guns.

cp just has just not kept up, in marketing and technology. atleast it seems that way. their youtube and social media presence is lacking.

They are still one of the best. But they were never a discount brand, and asking for a top quality 1/2" impact gun under $200 is a tall order.

Aircat/Nitrocat is a hard hitting serious tool, but I still wouldn't expect it to outlive a CP or IR or Snap On or other top shelf tool in the same working conditions. As always, you get what you pay for.

If you indeed paid $425 for an MG725, yes, you did waste money.

Mine was $316, brand new from Snap-On, no student or other discounts. Stop buying stuff off the truck!!!

OP didn't specify what they will be doing with the gun, if it's just rotating the tires and the occasional stuck bolt, 26 gal should be fine depending on the motor.

I can rotate my tires and inflate all 5 with well under one fill up of my 33 gal. I turn it off after it fills since there's lots of people around my garage, so I can let it fill back up when people aren't around to complain. I use an IR 235G, not necessarily recommending it (my recommendation would be an Earthquake, especially if you are new to air tools), but I got it used and it's been good for me.

Mine has been out-performing IR/Matco guns for 3-4 years now just fine. Only problem it's EVER had was due to mishandling by a co-worker when his gun wouldn't budge a bolt. He managed to knock a hole in the nose cone of my 1200K, 20 bucks in parts and she's good as new. Worked fine once I re-filled the oil and taped it up for the week that I had to wait for parts.

I think you would be surprised at the quality of the AIRCAT products. Nothing comes from China and the internal parts are made will the highest grade steel, plus the bearings come from Japan/Germany and several internal parts are USA made. Assembled in USA High quality all-around products.
