Good Better Best?

Is there a tool box color that just everyone hates? Mine is red. Ive been looking at a orange or blue box, but I'm curious as to which actually look good compared to others. Ive seen that other members have said certain coors of snap on boxes are hard to sell. So how much does color really effect this. Is there a good better or best color for a tool box? Thanks

I really don't care. As long as they do the job and the price is reasonable. I've got a blue Matco double roll away, a black Cman full stack, red HF 44" roller, the red HF tool cart. A brown Kennedy 7 drawer lower, 520 top and a cherry machinist chest. I guess I like a variety. Keith

If I were to order a Snap On box, it would likely be midnight blue or extreme green. If I was buying used, I wouldn't be scared away by any color (particularly if I find a KRL 777)

Whatever floats your boat man....color is a personal choice... I am sure they have some colors that don't sell as well as others but when they sell them at a discount, to somebody they are the prettiest color ever.

This is a valid question.

I was just out looking at bikes, and there is always a hot color that would have better resale and a color that reduces value in comparison.

In the model I was looking at, a gloss hot orangey red is the hot color, and a flat dark grey is the one with not as good resale. We bought the less conspicuous one, so theft would be less likely.

Although my main box is black, I'm kinda in the tool box is red mindset unless in is a Kennedy, those are brown. (The ironry there is my Kennedy roller is wrinkle finsh red) If I was ever to replace a current box, I'd probably go back to standard red if ordering one from scratch. But I also like my trucks, trailers and tractors red. All said thou my personal favorite box color is classic craftsman gray with red drawers.

I buy and sell about 12 to 15 big boxes every year. Any of the Snap on's from the 90's with gold trim don't sell well. Yellow and orange sell well. Red is always safe. Black sells. I had a gorgeous forrest green triple bay with a stainless top that sold in a week. It was gorgeous. Have yet to get an extreme green box and doubt I would have any trouble selling it. I even have a pink Snap on double bay I haven't even tried to sell.

Condition and priced accordingly is what will sell a box. If it is sweet, you can get more money. If its beat, the price needs to reflect that.

Here's the pink one

Red is pretty run of the mill color wise. My work box is red KR1000/KR537 with a blue locker. The new Matco cart I got is the "silver vein" which is pretty much hammer finish silver. Looks nice.

I'd prefer a nice dark green or blue in general. The funny thing is just about everything in the shop got a painted MP8 red a year ago and it makes finding things obnoxious when every thing is a shade of red.

I got black when I ordered my last two boxes (67" Macsimizer and an 84" Epiq) but that was my personal preference. I like the midnight blue in the pics but haven't seen one in person. At work we have 1 extreme green, 1 purple, 1 dark gray/green, 2 red, 2 yellow, 3 black, and 4 blue, all are truck brands, and I think about 3/4 of them were bought new through the years.

Like everyone has mentioned, it's personal preference and most prefer function over color.

I prefer the reds, then black.

I've never seen a beige/tan box. Seems like beige/tan/sandstone would be a nice color for a box.

wow guys thanks for all the replies! I also am into the function more, i think the color can just sweeten the deal a little. As well as stand out a little bit around other boxes. I was just wanting others opinions because i didn't want to order one that the picture looks great and get it and the color and finish be horrible. Im interested in blue, but think it may look cheesy or cheap, similar to some spray paint blue colors.
