Well demolition has begun, you served me well, kept me somewhat dry and somewhat warm, but it is time for a new generation. Here are some pics, i have patiently waited for this day for sometime.

Thx Mike for the encouragement! no drawings but it is going to be the same size 22x26 8ft. garage door and should have close to 10ft ceilings. i am working on strict town code to height, so i am going with a pre fab struss 4 12 pitch. otherwise stick building the roof with attic gets me into the variance process. Plus alot more money! I will keep the pics going along, thank goodness for the warmup here near Niagara Falls N.Y that has really helped.

Yeah starting in february is insane but a really good friend of mine is a contractor, he's doing the build. the price was too good not to do it in feb.

From historic pics the garage started off as a chicken coop around 1925. Then previous owners did makeshift construction to make it a garage. The funny thing is the garage( if you call that) would probably never of fell down.

well old man winter showed his face again, would of liked a few more days of the mild weather we had. After a good inspection of the block after the demo, i decided it definately needs replaced. Initally i thought i could get away with some pointing work. Atleast the dog likes the snow i'm getting tired of it.

Thx, the weather was great, when we had the lumber delivered and then a snow storm. I guess the weatherman is projecting 6 to 12 inches of fresh snow for tonight. the block was really old, the good mix with the pebbles in it.

I started my garage and home now because it is unbearably hot in Louisiana during the summer. I am hoping I can have the house enclosed and AC up and running before it gets too hot.

Keep us update with plenty of pics.

After a few days of not being able to lay the block, due to cold weather. the temps finally reached 30's and i was able to get the block down. It is all complete so hopefully in 2 days the framing will start.

just some pics of build, the liftmaster belt driven opener and insulated door are great. would highly recommend them. put front and rear man doors in garage.

for some reason i can only upload 2 pics at a time. Put a heavy duty shelf completely around the inside at 8ft tall. still have to put a lip on the shelfs and braces for the scaffolding.
