I recently purchased a complete set of new drill bits, all three sizes, from a machinist going out of business for cheap. About 120 total, nice bits.

Way too many for my standard 'drill holes in a block of wood' trick.

I also am thinking paying $50 for huot is a lot of money for a box I will open once a week.

I am going to swing by the pawn shops, but otherwise what is a good, affordable idea?

Harbor freight 115 bit set with the 20% coupon and toss the bits? Someone else?

Good luck with that hunt. Every one I've ever had fell apart no matter how good the bits are.

I never seem to have any trouble finding drill indexes empty or partially full of junk bits. Seems as if every fourth estate sale has one or two. I've got at least four fractional by 32nds, four by 64ths, one A-Z, one number 1-60 and one 60-100.

This winter I've got to set up a couple of sharpeners and go through all of the boxes of bits which have been put aside for sharpening. In fact, I should just sharpen them all and next time I reach for any size, it will be good to go.
