Good deal estate finds?

I'm happy to have my first heritage top chest. Havent cleaned it out yet, but what do u all think, good deal? $40 for box and another $20 for some random usa made extras. I think I missed the red carry around tote, might go back tomorrow for it.

I understand where ur coming from. My goal is to do similar...box was a bit high, but individual 5ools were $1-3 each, and I dont really need them all. Selling off some as compiled sets with some of my other stuff should hopefully help soften the blow.
I also know what ur saying bout the badges. I have 2 or 3 red/gray chests from the 70's that I need wome of the "v" Chevron style badges for too.

I want one of those logo's for my workbench backdrop, where I have a collection of similar toolbox badges I've removed from boxes I've bought over the years. I don't have that one!

Cool workbench backdrop. I wonder what happened to the tool boxes. Kinda like killing a rhinoceros just for its horn.

I think your tool box emblem display is a very cool and creative idea. In a few square feet of wall space you have displayed what may some day become close to a century of tool box history.

As for the boxes themselves... whatever condition they were in when you got 'em, they are still just as useful, just as solid.

I hope you post a picture of your workbench backdrop so we can all enjoy it.

Our opinion is VERY important - you need to post pics of ALL your tools so we can drool over, er, I mean, appraise them!

That Dayton top box is identical to my Proto, which I purchased new in the early 1980s. It's a fine box. What did you pay for it?
