found this box on cl for $500.

was hoping if some of the guys on here may think this is a good deal or not?
comes with both side cabs.

owner say it just needs to be cleaned no scratches dents or dings.

anyone know the models?

any comments and suggestions will be appreciated.

My comment is to forget about reading comments and go get that box. It'll likely be gone within a few hours.

Checked it out

It was in pretty beat up shape to be honest.

Had no tools inside.
No ball bearing sliders

I was worried they would bind up with real weight inside of them.

I didn't take the box.
I rather a cheaper hf box
Because the shape of this one really had me worried

oh ye of little faith.....

that box with it's "ancient" friction slides will probably outlast a new HF box.

i have a 26 year old roller cab of the same model, only replaced 1 set of slides.
also had the same side box on mine, list price on that box was over $1100 back in '88.

if i needed tool storage, and the cash, i'd take it in a heartbeat.

Did you make an offer of less because of your issues with the condition? I do not think I would have left without the box.

That box would have come home with me. It's surprisingly easy to freshen up Snap-on tool boxes. Friction slides were the way of the master for a hundred years. Snap-on still services them under their warranty.

No tools? What do you expect?

the owner did have someone else coming to look at it today.

and had a few other people look at it.

i have no intentions on buying it at this point.

everything seemed to work so did the locks he had all the keys with them.

space wise its a nice box.

he wouldn't take less then $500.
i just didn't see the value in it because of the condition.

I saw it yesterday but I don't need another box right now. Actually there are a few of these type deals on Snap-On and Mac boxes lately. Guys must really be broke because some of the deals are sick...
