baldor 5hp motor, 17cfm at 100, same pump as you see on many 5hp's...

HD also sells curtis compressors, and ingersoll rand, its nice to know if someone needs to use a credit card for the 0% 12 month or 6 month or what ever it is they can, get a compressor on a payment plan, also lowes sells quincy....

I am not familiar with it but from the picture it looks like a decent air-compressor. The price seems pretty good too.

If you want a really great deal and you're not in a hurry, wait for your local NAPA to have their annual tool sale. I saved $800 on my compressor a few years ago.

Check with TP Tools in Canfield Ohio... they sometimes have 5hp, 80 gallon Campbell Hausfeld compressors with a higher cfm which are refurbs but in perfect condition for like $600.

I scored one three years ago and have not had one problem with it.

That has a very low CFM for a 24 amp 5 HP compressor. As others have said wait for a better value to come your way.

Here are the flow numbers from the HD website:

Delivers 17 CFM at 100 psi and 16.2 CFM at 175 psi

I don't see those numbers being that low for a 5HP unit - maybe by one CFM or so.

I will also point out that the magnetic starter is not included - budget another $150 for a decent NEMA Size 1 starter (or $50 if you want a Chinese-made copy of an IEC European-spec starter).

I don't think one can buy a "mag starter" IEC contactor at Home Depot. Also, one would need an enclosure for it and probably some liquid tight conduit.

Its interesting they don't advertise it as "2 stage". guess i'm getting old. ASME tank is nice.

I don't need another compressor I was just linking it in case someone was in the market, its, even if you buy a $100 starter you are only at $1400, I can't think of anything that compares for that price? Plus some guys using the homedepot card is a huge plus...

A starter from elimia is about $100 for 5hp, I have used a few of them over the years, they work fine and seem to last, I have never replaced one, they are all still running and starting... I have 2 5hp and 1 7.5hp, if you keep an eye out on ebay, you can find a 5hp cheap, I got one brand new for $70 once... says made in USA, not sure what that means though..

A friend of mine has a dewalt at his shop with the same compressor BUT a cheapy motor, he paid like $1600 for it years ago, and that thing runs 4 hours a day 5 days a week for the last 5 years at least...

I have seen this pump on a few compressors, big heav unit, sound good, I think with this sale its a good price, a baldor motor alone is $350+...
