I'm looking for a GOOD digital angle finder for miters. I have one of the digital angle finder cubes, a Klein. But I need one that will check horizontal angles, which the cube cannot do.

Anyways, looking around on amazon, doesnt seem any of them stick out.

I'm looking for a protractor style, with 2 rulers attached at one end like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00563TM32/?tag=atomicindus08-20

I'd really like to find one with a thumb wheel or something for fine adjustments as they can be very touchy. Not sure if such a thing exists or not though.

Anyone know who makes a good one?

I have this Husky. It only reads to a 10th of a degree so I find it no problem to adjust and hit my target angle. I'm sure hitting 1/100th of a degree would be more challenging. On mine, you tighten the wheel which sort of locks it in place but you can still move it a little if you really try and I find it easier to make fine adjustments with it mostly tight. c50eb71e3c290083c1d28a27ce9460ea.jpg

I'm gonna be THAT guy who recos what you're not asking for as this is analog -- so stop reading now if it must be digital.

I have and love this Starrett. Each leg is also thick enough you can nicely catch an edge and then swing the other to copy/measure an angle. The scale reads direct or miter cut angle. No batteries to die.

Been using it for years in metal fab (ironically) and the pivot is still tight, so it stays where you put it.

However, if you must have the resolution of digital, I understand.

We now return to your normally scheduled programming....

Funny, I was working on miter cuts for a bump rail on a pontoon boat last night and my buddy stopped by with that exact same one. Before we started working, I checked it against a carpenter's square for 45 and 90 degrees and it was DEAD NUTS. Couldn't believe it. We used it the rest of the night and had great results. The ability to turn the knob to lock in the angle was great when I had to walk it over to the chop saw. Unless you're building a Mars rover, I'd say the General is good enough for most stuff.

BTW, I originally bought the 12" General one with the levels built in but it didn't have a way to lock in your measurement so I returned it.
