I am looking for a good, recessed 3" LED (remodel housing) which is extremely dimmable and warm. I am trying to match some EcoSmart LEDs in the room, and the 3"'s I've bought so far do not dim well to low levels and are bad colors.

Anyone have a recommendation?

Will the Cree 4" model fit by chance? The 6" ones fit some 5" housings.

It is a new install, so I could install 4" housings... it is a small soffit (~14in deep or so?) and the 4" Cree's/EcoSmart's look too big IMO.

I recently did a basement remodel and installed 18 4inch can lights that all had led retrofit kits installed, i had a problem with the led dimmer not being compatable to the bulb, i had to buy a non led rated dimmer which allowed the bulbs to dim properly. These lights were on or 4 circuits. I cant remember the name brand of the led's they werefrom Home Depot.

You can only put so many LED fixtures on a dimmer. There was an article about it some where where they said you can not just add up the wattage to figure out how many fixtures you can have. What is the highest fixture count per dimmer you currently have?

great question, i dont remember if we had 4 or 5 lights on each circuit . After calling leviton they told me that the diming function may not be compatatable with all bulbs. Thats why after doing research i went with a non LED dimmer. You are right there is a limit of can/LED'S you can run in a series based on wattage.
