I have a bunch of drawers to line. I have used the foam drawer liner material and it always seems to bunch up when tools shift around. I have used some rubber mating they threw away at the shop with good results. No idea where to get more though. Any good suggestions? I'm not looking to spend much either. Thanks all.

I had similar issues and all my drawers are lined, used both sheet style (once upon a time) and the "mesh" type (currently in all my drawers). Couple different brands I've used all claimed they won't slip but I think that depends on many factors and all eventually slipped.

I ended up using a 3M 6004 super strength adhesive. Doesn't harden and can be removed with no damage to the drawer finish if I need to move stuff around. None of my liners slide at all, but I also have soft close drawers in my newer box and I know that helps some too.

Duct stuff from walmart works fine for me. Seems like they had some in the tool isle that was on a bigger roll.

I just bought a roll of cushion type black matting at Home Goods which is a store I didnt even know about. I had to get some baskets for a present for my wife.

It was 4.99 for a big roll.

I swear it is the same stuff in my matco box.

It wont slip it is almost sticky feeling but it isnt truly sticky.

Cheap and seems perfect.

SHOWER PAN LINER. Find it in the plumbing department at Home Depot. Usually grey and on a roll, so sold by the foot. (I always look remnant from the end of a roll, they are usually folded on the shelf near the full roll, and ask for a discount)
Cut it to size for your drawer, place it black writing down. It stays put, you can't hurt it, it lasts forever, you can wipe grease or what ever off.

Check out the HF Nonslip Solid Liner. Its pretty damn good. P.U. the smaller length 16"x22" roll for $2.99. Bring it home, install it in a drawer or two and give it a test and see if you like it.

If you like it, go back and get the 18"x72". I'm almost done lining all my boxes and cabinet drawers. My tools stay put when I close or open the drawers so I'm happy with it.

Carpet runner is what I use from home depot. Rubber, comes in whatever length you want.
I was looking at alternatives specifically for drawers, but at $10+ per drawer I could not justify it.

Carpet runner is about $3/linear foot and it comes 24 or 30" wide if I remember correctly. My tool box cost me maybe $30 total?

I did carpet runner from Home Depot a couple months ago. Zero complaints. I did cut it out using a drywall square which added to the cost (I didn't have one) but it was pretty reasonable. Was ~36" wide so I was able to use it in my 30" deep box, which most liners seem to be limited to 24" deep or so.

It's thick, but that hasn't hampered me in any way yet.

The Craftsman drawer liner (used to be) decent. One of my boxes has had that since the 80s/90s and its still good. Bought a couple more rolls on sale about a year ago for a workbench. Still seems to be about the same quality, but I wouldn't pay $25/roll regular price.

I went to Five Below and bought the yoga mats. I made paper patterns of the drawer interiors and my wife cut the mat to size using her quilting rotary cutter.

Been told (but have not confirmed) that cheap yoga mats from Five Below or Walmart work well as drawer liners.

I got some yoga mats from the dollar store, they work well. You can find them in a variety of colors too so you can color coordinate with your tool box, or use different colors to signify specific drawers or sections for specific tools.

I have tried many of the products mentioned in this thread, then I found the best. There used to be a vendor at the Carlisle car shows that sold this stuff by the foot, and I picked up a large roll and cut to fit all my drawers. This is the same material that they make fender covers of - the type that will grip your tools and prevent them sliding off. I can slam my drawers shut (not that I do) and the tools do not move. It is also completely impervious to all known automotive fluids.
