If you are in the market for a good and cheap flashlight, I happened upon LE flashlights on Amazon and I really like them. I've got this one in my truck's glove box and I just got one of their headlamps for Christmas. I'm sure there are other good bright and cheap lights out there, but I know these work and I like the price. It's not a maglite or some combat quality flashlight you can mount to your shotgun, but for 8 bucks I think they are pretty good.

I actually put together some SUPER bright flashlights with components from MtnElectronics over the summer. However, I do wish Maglite would keep up with the times and put out some more powerful flashlights so I could support an American company.

I would be interested to see some close ups of the led. At 40ish lumens per watt, this is exceptionally low. This is likely a knockoff CREE actually made by LatticeBright. Is the color very cool? Damn LatticeBright has been the bane of flashlight heads existence.

Coast HP7. 20 or so bucks at home depot, uses AAA batteries (the really good lights use those hard to find CR123 batteries cause of the voltage), 3 modes (hi,medium low), focusing beam and good runtime. I came across them before xmas and Im sure you can ebay it for less. I used it hunting to go out at zero dark thirty and its BRIGHT. Not surefire bright, but for the cost and the no stupid CR123 batteries Im happy.

All of the newer combat style super bright lights used CR123 or the new larger AA sized type battery 1850 if I recall thats rechargeable. WTF you are gonna recharge when you really need it IDK.

Way better (brightness, tone, battery life, durability) than the old xenon incandescents, for sure, but at least five years behind the curve on LED technology.

The vape industry has made the 18650 standard, plenty of 110 wall warts and USB chargers to choose from.

However good luck buying it at a regular old store.

I do admit I want a battery I can be stuck in the middle of nowhere and can find.

Just avoid Mag Lite and choose from the Streamlight and SureFire catalog.

X2, was just about to post that one. Nice light, and at that price, you won't feel bad when you don't use it for a while and the battery leaks and ruins it. DAMHIKT
For that price, it is well worth it to try. I strongly doubt it is a real CREE since it is an UltraFire which is well known for using LatticeBright knock offs and claiming they are cree but $3 for a body might be worth it as well.

Edit: looks like I missed out. No biggie.
