Anyone going to the Good Guys Rod & Custom Nationals in Pleasanton at the end of the month. It is a lot of fun with Over 3,500 Rods, Customs & Classics thru '72. And there are a bunch of vendors there selling garage art, tools, lifts, etc... Any regulars know IF Pleasonton gets much a Musclecar turn out..........(up to 73)

Where, what city might I still look for inexpensive lodging............

How far from San Jose airport or ????? if I fly down.

Chuck if you were to fly into San Jose, getting to the fairgrounds in Pleasanton is an easy 30 minute drive North.

As far as inexpensive lodging close to the Fairgrounds, that can be a challenge. There is a Hilton only a couple of blocks from the fairgrounds and the Hilton parking lot is a car show in itself...not cheap though.

You will find cheaper digs if you look North of the 580/680 interchange, check San Ramon. If you stay in San Ramon, then you can just drive south on 680 (like 10min) and be at the fairgrounds.

As an aside, you can often get great fares for Oakland Int'l airport, and it is a very nice/modern/easy airport in-out and would only be about a 45 minute drive from there over to Pleasanton.

It usually has a really great turn out with quality street rods and muscle cars.
