I won't use one... I do mostly mechanics. I've always got my arms elbow deep into the engine bay, or other stuff. Anything on that wrist band would be in the way, rub off, etc. IMHO, it ain't worth the powder to blow it to hell.

It depends on the application. Under the hood, I vote with the rest of them and give it a big thumbs down. Was at a Lowe's once where they were setting the steel, one guy was using two of those to keep nuts and washers near at hand for the guy running the impact. Worked well for that and didn't get in the way, but like I said, it's the application.
Cheers,
Jim Don

I keep my spare change on one, instead of in my purse.

My Uncle had one and swore by it.....I mean, swore AT it!;) He had a metal plate in his head and if he wasn't whacking himself in the noggin', he was always asking to be recognized!

I'd try a pair, but with my balls of steel it'd be hard to get anything done!

I'm one of the loons who bought one - except I paid $4.99 for it at Checker Auto. I use it around the house for anything taking place on the carpet or grass. It's saved me from hours of combing the rug with a magnet for that stupid little #6 screw that I drop every #*&^ing time I change the bulb in the hallway light.

I can also see where it'd be handy at work for elevated jobs, like the upper headlights on 793D's. It really ***** to untie, go down the ladder, find another screw, climb back up there, tie off again.........

LMAO:spit:
The purse is for tampons.:D

[hey what happened to the LOL smiley thing - where the guy is hitting himself with the hammer???]

The concept of having a convenient 3rd hand to hold stuff is good.
Maybe the magnet is not the best alternative.
I use my pockets for now.

I have or had a pair of gloves with has a magnet like that on the top of the wrist. I thought the same thing everyone else does when they buy them, all the different ways you can use them. But I never really used them, more or less a waste of money and storage space. Heck I don't even know if I still have them or not.

Just like the other fellas were saying, they'd be unpractical for a car mechanic. You'd either lose the pieces by scraping your arm against a component in the engine bay. Or you'd get irritated with your arm sticking to everything in there. I can only think of one real application for them in my trade but they still aren't worth the hassle.

They could make one that fits around the upper part of your arm instead of the wrist, so stuff doesn't fall off.

My pythons would need a 22" strap.
