I always see people's horror stories with sears/craftsman warranty, so I thought I'd share my good story that happened tonight. I replaced all my metric sockets with snap-ons, but have kept my craftsman in SAE since they aren't used anywhere near as much. They were all 12 points that I bought at a flea markets years ago for next to nothing. $10 for a full shallow and deep set in SAE. It seemed like I was always stripping stuff with the 12 point sockets, so I decided to see if they'd let me trade in all my 12 points for 6 point sockets.
I walked in with them on my socket rails and spoke to the girl at the register. After confusing her with wanting to trade in all my sockets for a different style, she called out the manager. I explained to him that I was not satisfied with the 12 points and would like to exchange for 6 point sockets. He told me to go grab whatever sets I wanted off the shelf and it would be no problem. "The customer is always right." So he let me trade in everything, and even let me get two sets with more sockets than I brought in! Then to seal the deal right next to the register they had a pile of craftsman pro screwdrivers on clearance, so this really made my night.
