I always see people's horror stories with sears/craftsman warranty, so I thought I'd share my good story that happened tonight. I replaced all my metric sockets with snap-ons, but have kept my craftsman in SAE since they aren't used anywhere near as much. They were all 12 points that I bought at a flea markets years ago for next to nothing. $10 for a full shallow and deep set in SAE. It seemed like I was always stripping stuff with the 12 point sockets, so I decided to see if they'd let me trade in all my 12 points for 6 point sockets.

I walked in with them on my socket rails and spoke to the girl at the register. After confusing her with wanting to trade in all my sockets for a different style, she called out the manager. I explained to him that I was not satisfied with the 12 points and would like to exchange for 6 point sockets. He told me to go grab whatever sets I wanted off the shelf and it would be no problem. "The customer is always right." So he let me trade in everything, and even let me get two sets with more sockets than I brought in! Then to seal the deal right next to the register they had a pile of craftsman pro screwdrivers on clearance, so this really made my night.

I recently went to Sears to warranty an old 1/4" fine tooth ratchet that I bought new as a teen back in the 70's. I really didn't want to give up my old ratchet and had a repair kit part number with me that someone had posted here. The young man at the counter rolled his eyes and said he would go look in the back of the store even though the computer said unavailable.Five minutes later he returns to the register with a big grin on his face and an old dusty yellowed package with the rebuild kit in it,said it had to be older than him ,and wanted to know if I needed anything else, as he was on a roll.:D

I bought a zillareel 50' 3/8 retractable last week in store having a cashier go online and match the price of $107.99 with $5 off coupon and out the door for $112.**(normally $119). Well, yesterday i seen that they had dropped again to $101.99 online and with the $5 off coupon was $97. So i saved that on my phone, showed it to the guy and he price matched the online and had a manager override it since it wouldn't work initially...out the door for $106.05. So i went to the truck and got the reciept from last week and they refunded me the price of the cheaper one plus 10% which was just under $16.

Anyways, i knew ahead of time on both of them that they don't price match online prices, but got away with it twice. After another manager refunded me the cash, i heard him say these were online only deals and wanted to have a talk to the guy who rang me up,lol.
