i have been using the wiha metric flexible shaft nut drivers daily since 2008. these are my 1st pice of wiha i ever bought. the 7 and 8 mm is nice and broken in from continuous use on metric hose clamps. not talking limp **** floppy. just right floppy.

the other sizes dont get much use but cant just buy 2 without the set ;)

i got my set off ebay. it is the 5-13mm set. wanna say i paid under 150 for 2 sets shipped.

I like Xcelite too but finding a brand new set at a low price can be tricky. There is a 'mini' set which is kinda neat but the drivers and handles are very small. You can also get the 10 piece set which includes a plastic case which is very nice. Expect to pay about $60 on amazon though. It is made in the USA and seems to be good quality. The SAE model number is HS618 and the Metric is 413MM. Both are hollow shaft sets and will set you back about $120 total. Even though they are more expensive than Craftsman and Klein, notice that Klein and Craftsman only are 7 piece sets, whereas Xcelite has 10 piece sets plus a durable plastic carry case. That's the difference.

I paid $57 and change for the HS618 set through our local industrial supplier.

Definitely Wiha...

I have a set of the hollow shaft ones that I use constantly.

I also have the heavier duty version (in metric, picture is standard), but use them much less. No hollow shafts on these.

When I need a bit more torque and don't want to use a ratchet, I grab these from motion pro... Not quite the quality of Wiha or my Snap-on sockets, but they have held up quite well.

I ordered Allen brand nutdrivers from Cripe a few weeks ago, not happy with them. Functionally they work fine and the grips aren't uncomfortable but they used the same colors on standard and metric so they're not easy to just grab. I think I'll pick up Stanley's before they close whatever factory they come out of.

Hate me if you want, but i LOVE MAC's Macsimizer nut drivers. The grip is ergonomic to my hand actually feel better in my hand than Snap on, Craftsman or Matco's nut driver's.

I've recently become a fan of the witte nut drivers, I only have the 10mm, but I use it all over the european cars in the fleet. With two sizes of torx screwdrivers and the 10mm nutdriver, I can take apart the saab into many little pieces.

Saw this bumped to the top, so figured I'd throw out that I've since acquired the Wiha hollow shaft nut drivers and they've been a real pleasure to work with as well. I've still got my Wera in my toolbag, but keep the Wiha in my tool cart. Both awesome quality and you can't go wrong with either one.

:+1: on the Wiha

I just got a set of the "heavy duty" ones... they are great!

I got the Wiha as well because SO didn't go to 13mm and I like using that for changing my struts. Sold the SO and don't miss them (much).

I was given a set of Craftsman ones about 15 years ago, and have used them extensively. I can't complain one bit. I use them mainly for speed, if something needs tons of torque, then I get a real ratchet and socket.

I'm thinking about grabbing the Gearwrench Metrics from Cripe. They're only $18 for a 7 piece set. Of course, my OCD hates that i can't order the SAE set at the same time from the same place, so who knows.

Also: I do have the HF sets, and they're entirely adequate. I'd feel weird about recommending them in a thread full of Wiha and Wera though. :p
