Time to say hello and begin contributing to this valuable resource.I have been reading bits and pieces for awhile now (can't we find a better description than lurking?). I grew up in Colorado and now reside on the North Carolina coast. I am happily married and working after retiring from 30 yrs in the computer service business. I am a licensed Captain and have restored, sold and captained large boats. Now I just want to enjoy my projects
To that end I am planning a 34x36 garage build and am accumulating supplies cabinets etc.
I look forward to being a more productive member.
Grant

Hey Dennis! I lived in North Raleigh for ten years and run through there several times a year. When I lived there Apex was considered country, now it has been discovered.

NC: sounds like you are starting or maybe you have been LIVING THE GOOD LIFE. i agree LURKING is a little harsh and maybe there is a better word to get those that have read, learned and used our posts for years without even a post to say thanks or WELL DONE.

that said you sound like a good guy and maybe the new Woodworking 101 thread is a good place for you to start reading and posting and the link is in my sig line.

of course you can start another build thread that a lot of new members do, but without checking out and posting on tool threads, and other sections it's hard for GJ members to make it to all the garage threads without knowing the member that is spending his or her time making one. all the garage threads sometimes are just the same sort of and it's the people that keep me coming back every day to help and learn.

welcome to the group

hi ncboat, although I'm not really into boats I enjoy looking at them and appreciate the skill it takes to operate one. I have been married 55 years so you can figure I'm not a kid. That being said, I have never operated a motorized vessel. Do enjoy kyaking though, not white water.
I kind of agree with the lurker bit, I checked the dictionary and it is pretty harsh. It isn't meant to be among people here, I think:headscrat
