Looks nice. It's a quality box for sure, don't know if that would cost $4000 or more new? I bet you can talk them down. Seems like the different colored snap on sets bring more money. Go to the snap on site and see what a new one costs.

I don't know that i can compare a new one to this, being the price probably went up in 8 years. Also don't know the model number, anyone know the set numbers.

I really want a new box, I had emailed these people before I found the extreme boxes and they just texted me this morning. I thought I'd go look at it an see. The biggest thing I want is a deeper box and I don't think this one is much deeper then I have.

I don't know, paint that box red and it's a dead ringer for my Waterloo Traxx box, which costs about half that brand new. Be surprised if Waterloo didn't make that box for Snap On.

What do you really want a new box or a used? I know of a super cool Vulcan matco on ft.wayne Craig's list. It's old but a super cool old box. They started high but the price has been dropping lately. http://fortwayne.craigslist.org/tls/2994562190.html
Wish it was mine!

Man, I would buy that set in a heartbeat if it was near me. I want an old Mac or Matco of that style to use for my lathe and mill tooling.

Yes steevo I have been looking at the picture off and on for 6 months. I don't have the room or need but it's a great box. If it was like 3 or$400 I don't think I could control myself.

I went and looked at it, the box is in great shape but really not much more then I have. I thought the box was taller and deeper. I told the seller though that these boxes are going for 15-1800 right now

Thats CRAZY high! First, that box is only slightly better than typical Craftsman stuff. Seriously, i tried to sell a set like that. Even listed it here for like $1,300 and no takers. After a few months finally sold it for $1,200 (top and bottom and the top was less than a year old). Not too bad because I only paid $800 with two sideboxes and two hang on tool holders. But in truth, with that box you are buying a name....not a quality toolbox. It was pretty junky considering the retail price. You would be an idiot to pay even $1,500. I see boxes like that pop up for under $1,000
see mine here

I would agree, I really thought it was way to much as well. I went there prepared to buy if it was what I wanted but no where near that price.
