Ran across this picture and had to wonder whether it was stupid, or really great work?

That is very nice work, no matter if paid by the hour or paid by the job.

Nice job, it is refreshing to see awesome work.

On the other side, it sure is nice to have that kind of time to do your job.

They should have cleaned up the jumper from the two boxes at the bottom right.

Nice work.

I would say that picture was taken in Canukistan, they have different rules then the NEC and one is that the main breaker is isolated from the distribution section of the panel & no branch circuits can pass through that section, which is why you will see the branch circuits run from the side of the panel & even see them mounted sideways which is really hack work in the US because it's prohibited by the NEC .

I'm going with nice work.

It's either a proud homeowner/DIYer or a professional that takes pride in their work. How many times have we seen guys talk about shoddy work by contractors ? Now, we see a picture of nice work and we're going to bash that too ? :dunno:

THAT is really pretty... looks like some of the old knob-and-tube standard I've seen in old houses... or some of the (especially older) commercial building work I've seen...

I don't think it's OCD, it shows professionalism and someone who takes a lot of pride in his work. Plus - it makes chasing circuits easy peasy...

Clearly done by ex-Navy or maybe current Navy. Ever seen the conduit runs on a battleship??

Kinda OCD.
Here exposed romex is allowed as long as it is a certain distance above the floor. The two outlets on the bottom left probably would not pass because the exposed cable is too low. They should have used conduit or ******* on those.

Looks nice, but silly to me. I would have tried to minimize the real estate used up, and would worry about all that exposed cable.

A far better, more professional look would have been to fur out the wall, and recess the box and cable.

Its great, mine don't look like that, no one wants to pay but on some of the big installs there is no better way of doing it, Being neat is a bonus.

Quality work. A little silly and a bit of a waste, but certainly looks nice and won't hurt anything. Essentially all he's done is moved the mess up into the raceway where it's out of view.

Well I think it's both silly and awesome work. Maybe the guy is an artist and just making a statement.
