Good parking mats for an epoxy floor?

I recently had an epoxy floor installed (just had my painter do it) and he recommended using some kind of parking mat for under the tires, especially for my Corvette which sometimes sits (2nd car).

Sounds like a simple product but haven't quite found anything perfect yet.

But at $24 each it doesn't seem too economical to get one for each wheel.

I thought Race Ramps had something along the same lines, but their offering is a "flatstopper" is more than I need and also way more than I wanted to spend at ~$260/set. http://www.raceramps.com/flatstoppers.html

For my epoxy coated VCT floor, I used the clear vinyl runner material sold by HD. It comes in a roll which I think is 2' wide and is sold by the foot ($2.09/ft). It's the stuff without the spikes. Here's a pic.

I used 1' wide pieces (2' long) under each tire, so after tax it ended up at about $9 per vehicle. With the vehicles parked, it's almost invisible.

Hmmm, that looks like it could work - does it stay in place well with the vehicles constantly pulling in and out of the garage?

I don't know if I "need" them or not, the painter recommended it will help protect the floor from the tires. Hopefully the floor will stand up fine without them, but better safe than sorry.

Yes, the mats stay in place with the vehicles pulling in and out of the garage. I have them laying lengthwise front to back. So, 2' long when the cars drive onto them. If your parking position is less than consistent, I'd recommend making them 1.5" wide each rather than 1'.

I laid them down to prevent the floors from being stained by the oils in the tires. They definitely seem to be serving their intended purpose, as the mats are starting to turn slightly brown where the tires sit, but the epoxy floor below is still spotless.
