Re: Garage Heating via Contractor: Good pricing? Alternatively, difficult work?

Doesn't the garage door have to be on a GFI? I would dedicate a circuit if possible. That's just me though being used to run electric heaters!! Make sure the guys quote is apples to apples with the first guy b/c it doesn't include electrical work like the first guy

It's not apples to apples, but it's a local guy vs. national shop, he and I talked about what I'm doing in the garage and how I'm going to heat it, and he recommended the 45k btu as a result. So it's a bigger heater, no electrical, and possibly a Nest thermostat - trying to confirm that. Told him that's what I'm going to have in the garage, so not sure if I'm supplying the thermostat or if he is.

I haven't a clue what the garage door needs to be on, but if I do move the garage door, it will be on a GFCI- protected circuit as I'll just add to the new circuit I put in previously. That's a 20-amp and only services 6 outlets I put in my garage.

I'll do the heater to code, so the 2-amp heater will be on a single-outlet 15-amp service.
