A woman that has got to know my wife well in political organizing--and who knew me a little--decided to donate her late husband's tools to me.

This was partly because of the halo effect from my wife, but also because she knows that I'm active on the Board (and builds) of our local Habitat and thought that volunteering should be encouraged and supported.

I won't dwell on the list of stuff--suffice it to say they are tools that I have admired for decades but have not been able to afford.

So I'm deep into the project of trying to refit my little one car garage into a better workshop--it's a bit like the python swallowing the pig--and part of the problem is having to do it expeditiously, since she wants to start renovating her house and needs the room.

Talk about a spur to 'get 'er done'!!!!!

Anyways--I thought the tool/garage nuts here would like to hear of some amazing good fortune.

(I'll probably start a build thread--and I will take some picture as I go!)

Rent the smallest storage unit until you have the room. Take piece by piece as you need them. Have fun.

I think this may be the answer--I need to sell off a couple of big things, and then incorporate the new, so I will likely have to do just that.

Sometimes doing good for others come back to the benefit of those that willingly donate their time and talents.

Someday you might pass some of your windfall to another deserving person.

Absolutely!

Some tools will go to the Habitat crew almost immediately; if I sell some of the older stuff, the plan is to donate that money too.
