I'm looking for a triangle file to re-sharpen plier teeth, but I'm having a hard time finding any decent quality in local stores. What is a good quality brand to look for if I'm ordering online?

Teeth or cutting edge ? Really for either a triangular shaped stone might be a better option for you. A good plier is pretty darn hard.50 RC or so(guessing)
For a file I like Vallorbe but it's mostly because I just happen to have them.
Nicholsons are good (yes even evul Mexkin ones). Just get a recognizable name. They'll do OK.

did they just get those? Don't remember them last time I ordered...

Don't know for sure. I ordered some last week, but I think they have had them for a while. Definitely USA Nicholson. They have wood file handles with ferrule too, I purchased a dozen of those.

I would say the most important part is having a superiority complex and making unhelpful posts on the internet.

That post was meant to be a trivia question in an attempt to educate the OP incase the OP had the wrong answer to the question. No ill intent intended.

"Do you know how to use a file? PROPERLY?" -- I don't know what it is...but the number of times I've seen this on the interwebz is just mind blowing.

Videos of old grizzled machinists who clearly know their **** -- and who *actually* use files for actual ****-- just doing a quick "wonder how hard this steel is" back and forth with a junk file they keep around generate at least 300,000 "ERMERGERD DUMGUY DOESNT EVEN KNOW HOW TO USE A FILE!!!!!!!."

What is it about files? haha

If you do happen to get the Nicholson's, get the set with the Ergonomic Handles built onto the file
