I'm looking for a good quality set of left hand drill bits. I'm not looking for a set with just 5 or 6 smaller bits. I also do not want a set that comes with some sort of spiral extractors. I want strictly just a set of bits. I've tried looking for a set of Norseman but all I can find is individual bits. I'm having trouble finding a set online. Other than the set that comes with the Irwin master extractor set. Also, I've searched the big box stores close to me and they don't have either. What's my options? I don't want some random brand off Amazon for $20. Nor do I want any HF suggestions. I'm looking for a good quality set at a decently affordable price.

Yeah I searched that set as well. I couldn't find a full set available from Zoro either. Fastenal sells Norseman but they're all individual as well.

Buy an empty index fill it with the ones you need. Not sure why you would need a full set of lefties. I have about 5 or 6. Can't see why I would ever need more. I do machine repair for a living.

What he said.

Repair work probably needs just a handful of sizes.

Your running a screw machine or or CNC lathe or something requiring all sizes?

Cliff,
I have had good luck with the Snap On set I have but its only 5 or 6 bits. Like the others said, not sure why you would need any more than that.

Me too. Only used them a handful of times since buying, but they work well. Bought an older, never used set off eBay for $35. I think the Irwin 5 piece Cobalt set is hard to beat for a starter set. This set is $26, made in USA. BTW, these are most truck brands oem for drill bits and extractors.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Irwin-30520...ill-Bit-Set-/190499002578?hash=item2c5aa018d2

I've been using this Irwin set for about a year to remove a dozen or so bolts. Has worked great so far. I have broken a few drill bits though. I didn't know you could purchase left-handed drill bits individually. Will definitely pick up a few from McMaster-Carr. Thanks for that link, LXCam. That eBay set looks sweet. But way too much for my needs.

Can I try?

I picked up an index and have been filling it with singles from McMaster on an as needed basis. Yes, they're pricey, but they're also top-notch.

I forget the brand McMaster sent me, but I'll post an update when I have a chance.

If you want a deal on a quality, full index you'll need to buy used. Before buying from McMaster I bought the set that HF offers. They're honestly not bad for the money.

I recently bought the Norseman set that comes with the matching extractors. Its top notch.

Why would you need a full set of left handed drill bits? Not trying to be a wise guy, just genuinely interested.

Where did you purchase the Norseman set?

It's not the I'd need a full set. But I would like to have a few of the larger bits.

It was part of an Amazon order I placed a while back. I haven't had to use them yet (hope I never do, lol) but they're every bit as nice as the same kind of Norseman drill bits I have a set of.

Norseman. Made in the US. NOT CHEAP, so buy a small set (like their 87654 - 1/16 - 1/2 by 32nds) to start with.
