Skip the disposables that never seal properly to your face and let the smaller, more harmful particles through.

Half mask only: 3m 6300 with P100 filters
Full face shield: 3m 6900 with P100 cartridges

Cartridges (on the full face) have better filtration ratings, but for around the house stuff you won't notice the difference.

I use the half mask under my welding hood and the full face shield for everything else (lots of woodworking and metalwork). Both are excellent and far, far better than any of the many other masks I have tried. You will not be able to smell welding fumes, lacquer thinner, or any dust. Check prices, as they vary a great deal week to week on amazon. I've switched the the full face shield for a lot of stuff -- your friends will tease you, but you won't be the one with wire wheel bits in your eye.

Totally agree, disposables are junk. 3M are worth the money.

3m full face! Don't buy a half face one because if you need a respirator, you need safety glasses. Safety glasses don't fit with the half face style.
