Some of the cheaper marine grade heat shrink terminals are decent but some aren't. You won't really be able to tell until you start using them. HF actually has some decent marine grade heat shrink **** terminals. They used to carry ring and spade also but think they stopped.
I've also switched to using plane crimp connectors and heat shrink. It's actually cheaper to put a kit together this way. When you buy the crimps that come with heat shrink you are paying a premium, not a ton but it still adds up. The bigger price is having all these terminals laying around that you may or may not ever use. So if you buy just the crimps they are way cheaper to have just laying around. Then you just need a roll of heat shrink to make your own. You can even get a few rolls of heat shrink so you can have different colors instead of the standard 3 colors for the different sized crimps, blue, yellow, red.
I also wasn't a fan of having to crimp over the insulation. If you have good crimps it shouldn't be an issue but still don't like doing it when there is a better option.
This place has some pretty good prices on connectors and tie wraps,
