I'm going to try local, but in the meantime, anyone have a good on line source for stainless sheet (16-22 ga.) cut to my specs? Something like a #5 finish. Piece is going to be cut down to less than 2 x 4. I got a quote from Diamond Life but with all the charges it's about $70. A bit too much for me.

Have you tried industrial metals?

Be sure specify the PVC masking if you don't want it sctratched. 2 x 4 inches or 2 x 4 feet?

Alro Metals, used to be ASAP here in Ann Arbor. Great place, and they do ship. Any metal, plastics, in any shapes or sizes, plus tables and shelves full of odd pieces and cut-offs from other projects. It’s like a supermarket for metals. Shelves loaded with standard shapes and sizes in different lengths. They cut to any size you want, any quantity - one piece or a truck load:

Other locations around the country in several states, but not out west:

Wow, checking some of those prices, I think Home Depot should have least kissed me after screwing me. I've probably spend over $100 on sheetmetal over the past few months at HD, when I could have had it for about a 1/4 of the price elsewhere

home depot is only good for lumber, drywall, and romex.
