only 2 usa choices that i know of.
snap on or craftsman professional (same as mayhew but cheaper, with american handles instead of taiwanese)
When I bought the Mayhew Dominator set they said Made in the USA on the package. Are the handles really Taiwanese? Doesn't really matter to me cause they were indestructible at work so I bought a set for the house for a great price from the tool guy. Just curious.

"with global components"
they are mostly fine, i just find it ironic they, matco, mac, cornwell, and otc "cant find anyone in the usa to make a plastic handle (for most any tool)" yet the king of offshoring, sears, can find one made in the usa, more comfortable, and cheaper. All while jamming it onto a mayhew prying shank.![]()
I bought the Mayhew and the handle doesn't say tawain, but my 56" that I already had does. The packaging says "proudly made in the USA".

Is there a good time of year to buy the Mayhew 5pc set? I'm looking at grabbing a set via Amazon (I do love that they have expanded their overseas shipping to tools! 'effin' LOVE IT!). Difference in shipping for these is about $5, I have no pry bars, serendipity really!
But of course, if I can get them at an awesome price elsewhere.
Actually, while I'm at it, there is another set by Mayhew, being the 66302 4pc Cats Paw Pry Bar Set - apparently US made, but what is this Cat's Paw stuff? Is it a straight tip rather than the curved tips of other pars? I only seem to find pics of them facing up...
Hard to go wrong with a Snap-On product.Hurts to pay up for them but time and time again they prove to be the best.
